3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 May 2013 NEW

We stayed in the Annex - the newer section of the hotel. It was okay but for the price (close to $100 per night), it seemed a little overrated. The carpet was badly stained - which wouldn't bother me much except for the signs in the bathroom threatening that if you take your makeup off with their washcloth, they will... More

This was one of our last stops on a long Route 66 to New Mexico trip. It was a great "wild west" stay in vintage surroundings. The staff was great, restaurant good (my fellow travelers raved about their steaks), clean lodging, etc. Lots of historic stuff to read about on the walls, the haunted hotel stuff...well....

This place is fantastic ! Authentic and original. Excellent staff. Like stepping back in time to the 1800's. Couldn't have had a more enjoyable experience. Last hotel stay after the Eklund in Clayton and the Plaza in Las Vegas on a four day trip to beautiful northern New Mexico. Can't go wrong at St. James Hotel. Excellent food and dining... More

Thanks to all staff for a gracious and enjoyable visit, which I had been wanting to do since experiencing a ghostly lady's presence downstairs. Hotel looks great without sacrificing the authenticity. Winter rate is an astonishing deal. I had a four room suite and breakfast for the set $70 or so. Luckily, the weather was perfect and I took their... More

This hotel is really a wonderful experience. You get to see a part of the old west right here. The bar has bullet holes made during shootouts. The antiques are awesome. The breakfast buffet is super but the dinner buffet is even better. The rooms had names of famous people and you could stay in the old part or the... More

I really enjoyed my stay at the St. James. It has been remodeled since I last saw it, and it was my first time there as a guest. I found the staff very friendly and helpful, and I also liked the food I ordered in the restaurant while staying there.(I had the chicken teriyaki, but it seems almost criminal not... More

We had such a great experience at the St. James! We met family at the hotel after it was suggested by my step-father to join him and my mother for a weekend at this historic and haunted hotel! I was pleasantly surprised! The entire staff was awesome! They were absolutely the most helpful and friendly hotel staff I have experienced!... More

We traveled up to Cimarron to stay at this hotel after hearing about its history. The hotel did a good job by displaying all sorts of historical events that took place at this location. Now I am sure if you area heading this way you have heard about all the ghost stories. We personally did not have any eperiences, but... More

I visited as a solo traveller. It's out in the middle of nowhere, and while very cool history-wise, the food was the worst I've had in NM. The place was deserted yet the staff far from enthusiastic and slow. It's neat to walk around to the famous rooms where stars of Westerns stayed but only paying guests can see the... More

We were in Cimarron, St. James Hotel for an all weekend long ghosthunting investigation. We just had a blast! First, the old west look of the St.James is totaly amazing. Decoration, atmosphere, historical pictures on walls in the hallway, everything is perfect and help us remembering the past. The staff is so nice, helpfull and polite. Second, the ghosts.
