Welcoming and very comfortable. Appreciated the extra towels to dry the patio chairs after a rain, soak up coffee spill....somehow he turned on the perfect music when we got there! Very clean, stayed in the Royal Aspen with perfect private patio, full gas grill and fire pit with wood. Small fridge, micro, small coffee maker. Basic silverware and small plates,... More

This is a lovely lodge, tucked in a serene mountain setting, surrounded by the beauty of Jemez. Our room, the Royal Aspen was quite expansive and well appointed. All the amenities inside as described by previous reviews, I say "ditto". It was very cold, snow on the ground but our room was very warm . The owners, Garth, Robin and... More

If you drive here from Albuquerque (hwy 4) you'd never guess that there are gorgeous mountain views up the valley through Jemez...The drive is winding but the views are great the higher you climb into the mountains. Staying at Elk Mountain Lodge is SOOOO worth the drive! We were in the Ponderosa room. It felt like being in a cabin... More

My boyfriend and I love this place! We've stayed here many times, and every time is a joy! We love Terry, Garth and Robin -- and of course Cody, the greeter! The rooms are always clean, fresh warm and inviting. Our favorite is the Royal Aspen, with its knotty pine decor and incredible windows! You wake up feeling like you're... More

A friend and I stayed in the Royal Aspen cabin for one night. We couldn't be more pleased with our stay. The cabin was wonderful, the jacuzzi tub was relaxing, the heated floors and pellet stove made it cozy even on a cold winter night, the bed was clean and comfortable with a nice wool(?) blanket on the top, the... My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the "Royal Aspen" cabin at the Elk Mountain Lodge for one night only. We were in the area visiting the Valles Caldera National Preserve. My boyfriend had organized the booking at the Elk Lodge and to be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect. The area seemed sparse though absolutely stunning nature. When... More

We spent just one night here but enjoyed it. The rooms are all "cabin-y", very clean and are nicely appointed. (TV is small but that didn't bother us since we rarely watch TV) Our room was small but it had a nice two-person jacuzzi tub. Nothing nearby in terms of decent restaurant choices so we brought our own food and... More

I chose this lodge because of the rave reviews on TA. We rented the one bedroom Country Lace for ourselves and two bedroom Tall Pines cabiin for my kids and grandkids (family of four). The first, and biggest problem was that our granddaughter, aged 7, cut her foot on something (glass?) in the hot tub during the late afternoon. Terry... More
