We arrived at Cheetah Plains hoping to experience the beauty of Sabi Sands and the huge amount of wildlife in the area. The lodge itself was a little tired in the public areas, they are refurbishing this year (May/June I think). compared to the other lodges we saw on our travels, it seemed to be a little below par, but... Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback on your trip, we always appreciate it. If we could address some of your concerns: The lodge is scheduled for a complete renovation, and will be closed from May to August 2012, to enable the builders to complete the work fast and without any inconvenience to guests. We are... More

Wonderful staff in a fabulous reserve. The rooms were a little 'tired' but I understand that it was about to be renovated due to new owners. Rather disappointingly though, they weren't doing the bush walks when I stayed due to not having a gun licence in place with the new owners. This was the only downside. The drives were amazing... 10days after the terrible rain in the Krueger area we had a wonderful time at Cheetah Plains. Saw cheetah, 3 leopard and the rest of the big 5, and much, much more. Ranger Abel and Terrance are very, very good. Heidi, Marie and the rest of the staff made us feel very welcome. We are looking forward to come back... More

My husband and I have stayed at the wonderful Cheetah Plains (Djuma) twice and found it to be the perfect place for safari accommodation, wildlife viewing, superb staff and excellent food. The lodges are really lovely, being comfortable while not being over-the-top luxurious, perfect for a safari. The staff, both at the lodge and the guides and trackers cannot be... More

Cheetah Plains hits the mark with excellent game drives at a good value for your money. I would highly recommend it based on the four nights my husband and I spent there. We saw more wildlife than we ever could have expected- cheetahs, elephants, leopards, giraffes, rhinos, mongoose, monkeys, wild dogs, etc. Our driver and tracker were both very knowledgeable... More

The place is quite nice as is, but I heard that they are going to upgrade and renovate this place some time in the next year. The people who work here provide excellent service. Food quality is excellent, better than many restaurants but not up to the quality of a Michelin 1 star. Still it is very good and my... More

I stayed at Cheetah Plains for 4 days. It was a fantastic experience. The rooms, individual chalets, were very comfortable. The staff was superb. The food was delicious. Our guide, Jacques, and tracker, Patrick, made our game drives so memorable. Cheetah Plains was the highlight of our Africa vacation. I look forward to coming back soon.

The staff at Cheetah Plains are wonderful. Our ranger Andrew was brilliant and the staff at the lodge could not do enough for us. The food was excellent and we were treated like a member of the family. Great game viewing, we saw lions after a feed and we got really close to elephants!

There are only a few other reviews for this lodge, mostly commenting upon whether different rooms/huts had a view of the watering hole or had outdoor showers. I'd like to say that I had a first-rate experience at Cheetah Plains, and it had little or nothing to do with the room, the shower, or the view. My single room was... More

Visited Cheetah Plains for safari with 9 other women/friends. Immediate safari after arrival and already spotted 4 cheetahs. During 5 day stay, we saw the "big 5" animals and many others. What makes this place special are the people who work there. They embrace you as a treasured family member. The guides and spotters are the best in the area,... More
