My wife and I spent 6 days at Elephant Plains Lodge and rate it as the best holiday ever. The lodging was first rate, the food excellent, and the service extraordinary. The staff was very attentive to our needs and made our stay a memorable experience. Our ranger, Willie, and our tracker, Connie, were extremely efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable and... More

A fantastic game lodge with all of the required amenities. The accommodation is suitable and the hospitality is excellent. The food and entertainment provided during the group dining session must also be noted for its excellence! The staff here are very experienced and knowledgeable, and you feel as though you're in very safe and capable hands (even during any hairy... More

Thank you for your feedback and compliments on a lot of aspects at the lodge. It seems that you were not happy with the room you stayed in, though. You mention that you stayed in the basic tent/hut and that it did not have a big bed or a bath. We do not have any tents/huts at Elephant Plains. Our... More

We had no idea of what we getting into and it was much more than expected. If you vist the web site and it sounds great, it is. Believe it. It was a 3 hour drive from Nelspruit airport, which is an adventure in itself. The late afternnon game drive had already left when we arrived. They immediatley called one... More

As evidenced by the many outstanding reviews, Elephant Plains (EP) provides a great vacation but misses the mark for those who want a real bush experience. The EP facilities are truly resort quality and include 2 pools (one is infinity). As you walk into the lodge and around the grounds, one could easily confuse EP with a Starwood property. This... Thank you for your Tripadvisor review. I will take your comments of EP being "polished" as a compliment thank you! You were, however, not happy with the game drives with Richard and after reading your comments, I can understand why. There will be a disciplinary enquiry and we will take the matter from there. I can only sincerely apologize for... More

My boyfriend and I spent 4 nights at elephant plains as part of a 2 week trip to south Africa. Elephant plains was by far the highlight of our trip! The lodge is spotless, the food is good, the rooms are beautiful and the staff are all lovely. However, what made our stay was our game drives led by our... More

I stayed for three nights at Elephant Plains, and it was truly the highlight of my two-week long trip to South Africa and Zimbabwe. During this time, we were able to go on 6 amazing game drives, during which I saw the most incredible things, beyond my wildest expectations. We saw the big 5 plus so much more, including cheetahs,... More

We were three senior women driving around South Africa in March. We had quite a time getting into this camp with our rental Toyota Corolla, but when we got there what a delight! We were greeted with a lovely beverage, help checking in and lunch! The game rides were fun and very accommodating. The room was spacious, well appointed and... More

Just back from South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana. Stayed at Elephant Plains 3 nights at the start of our trip--left wishing we'd stayed one more night. Our game drives were outstanding and our driver Morne Fouche was knowledgeable and intent on having us see as many species as possible. Derrick, the tracker sat in an elevated seat watching for animal... More

Elephant Plains was a great choice in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. The staff at the lodge took care of everything and the attention to detail was amazing. The lodge overlooks an open field that has tons of grazing animals to view from the decks and some of the rooms. Open areas are somewhat rare for game reserves near Kruger... More
