Thakadu is a great place for a bushbreak! Selfdrives are not allowed in the park, so gameviewing feels exclusive. At most sightings it was only our car present (lions, rhinos, wild dogs, elephants etc etc). I highly recommend Thakadu Lodge. A community initiative with 5 star service. Warm hospitality, very experienced & knowledgable game ranger (Patience), stunning setting, and incredible sightings. I will definitely go back.

Thakadu is much closer to the main centres (Johannesburg and Pretoria) than the other well-known lodges in Madikwe as it is on the South East corner of the reserve.
