We stayed one night at Buffalo Hills Lodge, as part of our Garden Route tour. I thought i had booked a tented lodge, but I had mistakenly booked us in to the main lodge. However, we were not disappointed - the lodge was beautiful. We had a very spacious room with a large ensuite bathroom, with fantastic views out over... More

We stayed at Buffalo Hills Lodge for 2 nights recently, whilst touring South Africa and the Garden Route. We had opted to stay in the tented units, which on arrival were most impressive. Very spacious, with all the mod-cons and even a spa bath! We were most impressed with the hospitality, having booked on a DBB basis, and Tony is... More

We spent three fantastic days at Buffalo Hills and would gladly have stayed for another three if only we had had the time. Our cottage was clean, comfortable and charmingly rustic, the view over grazing zebras and antilopes was delightfully exotic and the game drives and walks were truly enlightening. But Buffalo Hill's very best asset is the lovely people... More

Buffalo Hills has rooms and cottages, and a lot of animals: giraffes, zebras, bonteboks, springboks elands and - of course - buffalos. There are a lot of game reserves, but buffalo hills is special, for 2 reasons: First there are amazing tented lodges right within bushes and trees in the middle of the game reserve. With a spectacular view all... More

Me and my girlfriend stayed at Buffalo Hills for 2 nights, and were actually so charmed by this amazing and quiet location that we decided to spend 2 more nights there on our way back. I have very rarely been in such relaxing place, offering a magnificent view on the wide land, where we could enjoy and observe the peaceful... More

We had an amazing couple of days at Bufallo Hills. The luxury tents were above our expectations. Decorated with love and attention to the detail and equipped with all you need to make your stay enjoyable and pleasant. Even the heaters were on on our arrival, fresh flowers and a chocolate next to the bed. I had a bath in... More

Maria's home cooking and Tony's skill at the fire (barbeque) makes for great breakfasts and dinner (with lots of homemade and homebaked treats - like ice-cream and croissants). Dinner-time conversations around the fire and the dining room table are very relaxing and a good way to end the day. Game drives and morning walks were very interesting - thanks Kurt... More

Location was nice as they have a lodge in an area with some "wildlife" like zebra's, giraffes, wildebeasts and antilopes. We booked this as a 4 star accomodation like pointed out on the website but actually it was terrible. The certificate of the council for the 4 stars is valid untill july 2007 and the place has been dusted around... More

We booked the accomodation including BBQ, the game drive and guided walk accommodation: - the cottage was really nice and spacious, a bit rustic but thats basically the intention (this was a complimentary upgrade thx again) - tony, maria and carmen were really nice, helpful and friendly - food was very good and extremly nicely decorated; exceeded expectation - BBQ:... Buffalo Hills sits at the end of a gravel road, about 20 minutes outside Plett. You enter through a steel gate, heeding the signs that wild animals are on the loose. But the greeting is warming and we found the hosts Tony and Maria and all their staff to be unfailingly charming, helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. And of course giraffes,... More
