There are times when we need the comfort of Mother Nature. Fortunately the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge provides relaxation in good measure. A perfect complement to the Bosque's ambiance is just up the road: the Casa Blanca Bed and Breakfast. A lovely house, built in a simpler time, is furnished nicely, with books aplenty ,antique furniture, and sturdy... More

B&B was very cute and full of lovely antiques and books. They have what looks like a complete selection of New Mexico authors that is great, (made me wish I had the time to read). Room was quiet and clean (Heron room). Books on many subjects are available throughout the house. Breakfast was excellent, green chile, eggs, fruit, Greek yogurt,... More

I am so sorry that you had an unpleasant stay at Casa Blanca B&B as we are always concerned about the safety and comfort of our guests. I certainly accept full responsibility for being less than gracious and hospitable during your visit. I guess my only excuse is that I was in "recovery" after fourteen weeks of solid bookings and... Not only was the Casa Blanca B&B a comfortable place to stay but it was so much closer to Bosque Del Apache than any other location, allowing us a few more minutes of sleep before heading out to the refuge in the early morning. Phoebe provided an excellent breakfast each day during our four night stay. As we checked in,... More

Just returned to the east coast after a week in NM that started at the Casa Blanca Bed and Breakfast. What a lovely way to start a vacation trip. Phoebe and Phil are wonderful hosts. We visited the Bosque del Apache where we saw an amazing number of sandhill cranes and snow geese. Phil and Phoebe had lots of insider... More

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Casa Blanca B&B. Highlights included coffee & home made scones for our early morning excursions, delicious full breakfasts, recommendations (what to see, where to go, places to dine), history of the area, and lots of good conversations. Phoebe and Phil welcomed us, made us feel like we were staying with friends. We hope... More

We stay here at least once a year when we come down to see the birds at Bosque del Apache. Casa Blanca is a wonderful old New Mexican/ Victorian house, full of oak antiques and lots of books. Phoebe and Phil are wonderful inkeepers--gracious,, warm, full of information if you want it, and very unobtrusive if you want privacy. The... More

While we have visited Bosque del Apache several times before, our January 2012 trip was our first time at this very hospitable B&B, and I completely agree with everything Andrea W wrote. We were sorry to miss Phil, who was away on a service project in Guatemala, but my husband and another woodworking guest enjoyed a look-around in his woodshop.... More

Everyone has so many nice things to say about Casa Blanca and here is one more hearty recommendation! Had an absolutely wonderful experience staying here. Had no trouble finding the place when we arrived on the 28th of December, 2011. Enjoyed the nature art and crafts throughout the rooms, including Phil's marvelous carved wooden bowls. Had fun borrowing books from... More

We were very fortunate that someone had just cancelled their reservation at Casa Blanca when we called only two days before our journey. Phoebe was nice enough to hold the room for us while we made sure we could book our bargain airfare to Albuquerque. Bosque del Apache had been on our "must-visit" list for years, and staying at Casa... More

We have been going to the Casa Blanca for our annual bird watching for years. It is a perfect location, gracious hosts, wonderful breakfast. What could be better, up at dawn to watch the bird fiy out - Phoebe has hot coffee and mugs ready to go, back by 8:30 for a wonderful hot breakfast. Spend the day at the... More
