For the price this place cannot be beat. Sure, the plumbing was a bit noisy, and the rooms a bit dated, but they were clean and comfortable. Also, they were pet friendly. Our room was a suite with fridge, microwave, & fireplace. For the price, we got everything we needed and more. The complimentary breakfast was good (excluding the hashbrowns... More

Yes, its relatively old, but very inexpensive, and pleasant, it feels good. Rooms are quiet, large, very comfortable, clean, and spread out over large area in small buildings. The lobby and bar area is grand and very charming, its a great place to hang out, it has a nice big fireplace in the middle of the area. Great ambiance. Also... More

Everything about the Don Fernando said, "this used to be a top of the line place". But, no longer, as it seems it's fallen upon hard times. The staff was very nice, the cook-to-order breakfast was tasty, the 'bones' of the place showed something that was once upscale. Beautiful tile floors in the lobby, attractive art on the walls of... A little farther from town/plaza but good price, clean, fun bar & bartender. Free breakfast was good, came with the price of the room. We asked for an extra blanket and staff was very accommodating and pleasant. Happy Hour was good came with free snacks. Bartender was a neat gal, made everyone feel at home. We would stay again. We stayed one night at the Hotel Don Fernando De Taos when presenting assemblies to two Taos schools. After our long drive from California to Taos, we were ready to relax somewhere comfortable and peaceful. We got a room at the Hotel Don Fernando after checking with Super 8 and getting an outrageous price. We found a coupon for Don... More

We had a wonderful one night stay here. The hotel was very clean and while old and somewhat dated the room was real nice and at 68 dollars what a bargain. The bar offered inexpensive drinks during happy hour. The complimentary breakfast was more then we could have asked for. From Joshua checking in to Karen at the bar to... More

We spent New Years Eve Weekend at this hotel. It was nice, clean, staff was very friendly and accomodating. It was convienent to stores, shops, restaurant. The hotel is an older hotel with minor quirks. We asked them to replace our broken alarm clock and coffee pot which they did upon request. Wake-up call was timely. The bar services were... More

We dropped off our bags and went downtown. Settling into our room, I found: 1.screen missing from one window, pane cracked, other window would not stay open. 2. TV would not turn on. 3. stoppers broken in bathroom sink and tub, moldy tub enclosure. I called the desk and they gave me another room, but told me that no one... More
