There are many positive, accurate reviews of this B&B, so I'll supplement what's been said. We stayed in the Bridal Chamber, the entire top floor of the house. It is charming and spacious, with skylights in both the bedroom and huge bathroom. If you want to pull out the stops, this is the room to chose: king bed, working fireplace,... More

My husband and I traveled to New York from New Mexico for a long weekend getaway and found our stay at the Alexander Hamilton House to be very romantic and relaxing. Tom prepared delicious breakfasts for us each morning, and we enjoyed coffee and engaging conversations with him, as her cooked. Just a short train ride and we were in... More

I am a very experienced B&B patron. The reviews for AHH made me dubious which I now find surprising. What I love about the B&B experience is that it is travel accommodation that remains exactly what it is - a house, a home with history and a lived-in reality. Many, especially American, travelers have little experience being in old houses.... More

Great location and neighborhood. However, breakfast is just ok. No variety and the innkeeper - Tom is not flexible to changes. He did the minimum and did not help with suggestions about things to do in the neighborhood. The last thing that I want to add about the innkeeper, is that when we walked into the house for the first... More

No wonder this rated #1. If you are looking to go back in time to a peaceful, perfectly appointed, place with character and the very best of hospitality, this place is for you. Unique in it's style and immaculately maintained, this fabulous B& B is a jewel. You will find all the comforts of home - TV, CD player/clock radio,... More

We stayed at AHH the night before Hurricane Sandy hit the east coast, and even in the middle of the storm, we had an amazing time! The house is beautiful and enormous, but it is still so comfortable and homey! And breakfast was delicious!

Our large group occupied most of the rooms for a week to view fall color and to visit West Point and the nearby culinary institute. We also used it as a base to take excursions into NYC using the Metro North Railroad to Grand Central ($6.00 each way for seniors, non-peak). This is a great location on a quiet street... More

My husband and I stayed in the Turret Room of the Alexander Hamilton House for a one night "vacation" in the Hudson River Valley and enjoyed both the Inn and the location. It was close to Sleepy Hollow where we toured Rockefeller's Kykuit mansion as well as the Stone Church with stained glass windows by Matisse and Chagall. It was... More

Lock on back door is pain in the neck. Driveway is dark and hard to navigate at night. Amenities are lacking for the price charged. Location is good and house itself is charming. The best B&Bs exude a homey atmosphere and this one falls short.

Tom, the inn keeper, was very friendly and provided a nice book with lots of information about local attractions. Some of the information in the book was a littel dated, but it was still helpful. We stayed here three nights. Our room was fine and pretty much what I expected. The bed was comfortable. The air conditioner worked fine. TV... More
