We went to the island as part of a safari package and the web sight of the hotel is vry misleading. The border crossing was a nightmare 1.45 hours the officails all wanted extra money ect. The hotel was ok not 4-5 stars as suggested. The water is undrinkable but they charge for bottled water? They ran out of food/wine/beer/water... More

I can fully understand the frustrations of fellow travellers. When paying the kind of prices that this hotel charges one does expect quite a bit more. The accomodation itself is acceptable if you disregard the price though, clean, comfortable and safe. Our biggest frustration on the island was communication, trying to find out about transport and activities can be extremely challenging... More

We first thought to book from Thursday to Saturday and on the phone the guys told us that on Thursday the boat to the island doesn't function. We've book to check-in on Sunday and check-out on Tuesday. On Sunday 5 min. before getting to the island someone told us that the boat doesn't run as well on Tuesday. We had... More

My family and I had an amazing time at the Pestana inhaca Lodge, which is on Inhaca Islands..40km from Maputo city. The service was great and thanks to the many reviews from fellow tripadvisors, getting there was easy. Pestana Lodge, although graded four star is more a high end three star. the rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. The hotel... More

While this is the best of the options on the island, it leaves much to be desired. Also, there is very little to do on the island and not as many scenic places as other parts of Mozambique, which are beautiful. Rather than go there, take a little bit longer to go to Bilene up the coast, which is much,... More

As other people have said, getting to Inhaca can be a challenge. On the way there we asked at Club Navale (Maputo) and found someone with a boat to take us to Inhaca. He charged us US$100 per person. It took us 1 hour on his fishing speed boat. On the way back we took the Vodacom ferry, which costs... More

This hotel is like an old has-been prostitute. She tries, she fails, she sucks you dry but she stills expect you to pay top top dollar. Let me start by saying that Inhaca is a special place. The snorkling at Ponte Torres is amazing and the beaches on the southern side of the island facing Machangulo is truly some of... More

Despite the challenges in getting there, we successfully travelled to Inhaca and stayed with Pestana. It was well worth the effort - don't be deterred by finding a way across the bay to the island. the hotel has little chalets, some joined and some duplex, they are very nice, and the walls are well sound proofed. You can book meals... More
