This hotel had a first class location which made it An excellent choice. Whilst the accommodation was quite adequate and the food also do not come here for high-class five-star luxury. We were trully amazed at the standard of service we received at Namib Desert Lodge! The staff, from the Reception through to Manager, were very friendly and professional. The rooms, and the whole lodge for that matter, is clean and well kept and maintained. We will definately stay there again and we will advise anyone and everyone to stay there.

What a stunning setting. It is a large lodge so you hope it blends with the surrounding and this does. Being several kilometres off the road it is obviously not visible from there but the size of the place is never visibly apparent as it is spread out low bungalows amongst sufficient vegetation to keep it hidden. We stayed at Namib Desert Lodge for 2 nights. The rooms were nicely decorated, but they are cold!! And you can't turn on the heat during certain hours. This WAS a pleasant 'find', although big and catering for big groups, we found Namib Desert Lodge well run, wonderfrul personal service, and location beautiful at the foot of massive petrified dunes. once there, we decided to not go the 60kms to Sossiesvlei, but to spend our day walking the trail at the hotel, and in the afternoon a game/dune... Very good managed lodge. Good breakfast and dinner buffet. Perfect place to relax from travel. Friendly and helpful staff. Good place to stay for Soussusvlei even if it's 60 km away - Road conditions are quite good. Try to get a bungalow whith dune view and not to the inner campus.
