We had two wonderful days at Kulala. We did the dunes trip with them as well. The opportunity to sleep on the roof of the chalet and gaze at the stars almost all night was fantastique! Staff are so helpful, friendly and have great sense of humor. The whole setting of the lodge is just beautiful. The sunsets are just... More

After touring "all over" Namibia, we ended up at Kulala Desert Lodge. This is one of Namibia's best situated lodges in terms of its proximity to the sand dunes at Sossusvlei. As Kulala Lodge has a private entrance to the park the Sossuvlei excurison can by-pass the main park entrance at Sesriem. There are 12 Kulala's, or "tents", each one... More

We stayed her for two nights, this place is truly a little piece of heaven and the staff here are truly angels. I have never come across such friendly and accommodating staff anywhere else, the smiles, friendliness and joy that these people express make one feel so welcomed and truly at home. The accommodation are individual raised cabins, spacious, clean,... More

We arrived as a group were leaving for an evening tour of Sesriem and although we were asked if we wanted to go, after the seven hour drive from Windhoek we just wanted to unwind. We had chosen to drive the C26 partly so that could see the view at the top of the Spreetshoogte Pass. Frequent stops to look... More

Be prepared for quite a sight when you get to Kulala. After driving in the middle of nowhere, amazing desert, you see in the distance a small number of cute dwellings. The set up is stunning. All the tented rooms overlook the amazing red sand dunes. They are about 15 tented rooms around the main lodge. The main lodge is... More

Spent two nights at the Kulala lodge. As many have pointed out it is hot here, but then it is Namibia in the summer so that is expected. The small pool is great to cool off in. The tents/huts/kulala's are very nicely maintined. We had a family hut and although the temperature was fine at night for us the kids... More

First stop on our Itinerary after driving down from Windhoek in mid-Oct 2012 Good location albeit a bit stark, staring out across rock scree desert to distant Red Sand Dunes. Tents are quite basic and can and did get prett chilly when the wind picked-up (every day). We did not opt to sleep on the roof, as when I went... More

Great place to stay when visiting Sossuvlei. The staff was very friendly and helpful but there were some issues that unfortunately detracted from the enjoyment of our stay. There were no keys for our bedrooms, and were told we did not need keys! The safe in the room had no instructions, it was not straight forward to use and we... More

Recently stayed at this desert lodge and it was wonderful in every respect. The staff were warm and friendly and aimed to please. The tents were very comfortable and the bathroom lotions were environmentally friendly. Water was hot and the shower was a welcome treat after a day in the desert. The reading lights above the beds were among the... More

Reading some previous negative reviews about this place we were reluctant when Cardoard Box travel booked us there for our Fly-in safari. But as we booked very late, we could not be choosy. And we were very lucky since this lodge is amongst the best we stayed in. We understand the place has been completely renovated recently and it shows... More
