This is our 2nd winter stay at the Woods Inn and it probably will not be our last. The Woods Inn has the look and feel of what I imagine an original Adirondack camp would have felt like (with WiFi). It is clearly a small, family run operation. You will not have the amenities of a big-box hotel for sure.... More

We are retired and look forward to finding time to stay for the weekend as we have done a number of times (I believe 5) as we enjoy the ambience, food, feel and company of owners and staff just so wonderful we would not change a thing, food hats off to the chef, hot tub room magnificent, the blue reading... My husband, brother, and I stayed here the last weekend of December. We were so pleased with our stay! The room was really nice and had a pretty view of the snowy lake. We enjoyed a fantastic dinner in the restaurant. (We are still talking about the meal!) Our waitress Nancy was so sweet. The owner, Joedda, came over to... More

What do you get when you take a very old Adirondack great camp that at one point sat empty and unused for many years and give a talented and creative couple for 11 months to pour in a lot of sweat equity and I'm sure a great deal of money, and what do you get? Answer: A REALLY nice place... More

At one time, Adirondack lakes were dotted with Grand Lodges that attracted guests from around the states and around the world. Not many remain, but The Woods Inn is a picture-perfect example- with all the modern comforts! Owner Joedda greeted us warmly and pointed out that we were just in time for the lounge to open! Perfect! But first a... More

This was our second stay at the Woods Inn. We had stayed here before, several years ago, and were anticipating a good stay in our favorite area of the Adirondacks. It was a huge disappointment. It appears that the owners have tired of taking care of this historic inn. The bedding was old and well worn. There was no mattress... More

I am the owner of The Woods Inn and this is a devastating review. We could not possibly work any harder or put any more energy , thought and care into our property. I check the rooms personally and we update linens and furnishings as needed. This customer did not complain when they stayed so that we could correct the... More

My husband and I just celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary here, and we loved it! Besides the location and building being beautiful, it just has an overwhlemingly relaxed vibe. We immediately settled in and felt disconnected from the real world all weekend. The girl working at the front desk was beyond friendly- she was genuinely so nice and helpful! The... More

My wife and I made our first visit in our 1935 Ford. We felt very comfortable leaving it in their parking lot, approx. 500 feet from the road. When the owner learned that we planned to visit Great Sagamore Camp, she insisted we take her car due to the 4 mile gravel road into the camp. That's customer care! The... More

Attended a wedding at Woods Inn recently. The wedding party stayed at the hotel and had a wonderful stay. The reception itself was handled exceptionally well by the Woods Inn staff members. The food was better than ever! All details were handled perfectly. I recommend staying at Woods Inn any time of year!

We made our first trip this past weekend and loved it and will come back; however, I had to agree about the room. We had the worst room (208) on the floor....because when the rooms were left open after people checked out, the others seemed charming and had much nicer furnishings than ours. It was still wonderful...the restaurant was great,... More

A restored turn of the century inn with tavern and restaurant. Situated on Fourth Lake in Inlet with amazing Adirondack views. This is an award - winning historic property we designed to be a true Adirondack experience. The decor is meant to be campy shabby - chic. While we have added the modern conveniences that we think were lacking in the past century, we have tried to create a less stressful mountain environment that brings back another time. ... more   less
