If you want to be in the heart of the High Peaks this is the place to be! It's a warm and welcoming lodge with all the basics. I have stayed in the bunk room many times and also in a private room and enjoyed both experiences. It sits on beautiful Heart Lake with a trail system right outside your... More

Great place to stay especially if you don't like backpacking but want easy access to trailheads for many of the high peaks and other beautiful places to hike. Food is good & plentiful. Acoustics leave a little to be desired, so if you are sensitive to sounds while sleeping it will be a tough place for you.

Stayed at the ADK loj for the first time in early March- perfect location to start an early hike in the morning (the breakfast was delicious as well!). We had a private room- small but clean. The only downside is that the walls are really thin, you can hear your neighbors cough or speak at night. I was impressed at... More

Stayed at the ADK Loj for the first time early December for one of the ADK Mountain Club's educational courses. Always stayed in the wilderness campground or back country in a tent or lean-to for the past 22 years, so this was a treat. Staff were great - really client focused. Supper, breakfasts and trail lunch were hearty, nutritious and... More

First, to be clear you are staying at a mountain lodge that is not exactly trying to get to hotel standards but a base for outdoor minded folk, so you are paying for the situation and a 'mountain lodge' feel. So if thats what you want then this is a great experience. I have been to the lodge twice, once... More

This was my fourth trip to the Adriondak Loj; my second trip with my family. The location and outdoor experience could not be better. Situated perfectly for high peaks day hikes, the loj provides an excellent breakfast, a beautiful lake to swim in after a day's hike, and a Great Room filled with interesting and friendly people. Unfortunately, the loj... More

5 of us stayed in the tent for 2 nights, they are spacious (3 sets of bunks) with a picnic table and a small fire pit in front. Nice scenery, bathrooms are close and very clean for a campgrounds usage. The lake, the mountains, the information center were all great! Did not eat at the loj, so no comment for... More

We went in a group of six for the July long weekend. We decided to try the lodge instead of camping for the convenience. It was raining when we got there around 9 pm. Our room was ready and the person at the desk was friendly. The atmosphere is very camp like..old, dark but all conveniences like showers and bathrooms... More

The staff was very friendly and check-in was a breeze. There are a range of accomodations, ranging from rooms in the Loj itself to large canvas cabins, tent campsites, and Lean-To's. We stayed in a lean-to, which was quaint, romantic, secluded and somewhat isolated from other campers. The lean-to came with a bench table for eating and a firepit. The... More

Adirondack Loj is an enlarged cabin that over the years, has had modifications to its once spartan design. Electricity, telephone, hot and cold running water were all welcome additions to a cabin that once was very basic. The cabin is heated in winter but is NOT air-conditioned in summer. Two major types of rooms are available: private rooms or dorm... More
