We stayed one night this past weekend and did not enjoy our stay at all. When we walked in to check in, the owners sun was chasing around a squirrel that had gotten into the building! We were told our room was on the 3rd floor, no elevator so plan on walking with your luggage. The room was very outdated... More

Stayed at the Pines last weekend on a bus trip. Had a nice dinner in the restaurant Would have loved to sit by the fire in a common room but was told Because of insurance they can't have a fire after 9 PM has anybody ever heard of such thing??? Our room was okay but needed to be desperately dusted!... More

This hotel was a most pleasent surprise, nice clean room, sunday p.m. a wonderful band was playing in their ballroom. Would stay there again anytime. Lake placid, a nice place to visit. The family was in the area for a college graduation.

We recently stayed at the Pines Inn & were very pleased. We choose it because of location, price and the chance to see an historic building. We wanted to check out Lake Placid & The Pines is walking distance to Mirror Lake & the main street. Our trip was very off season – Whiteface opened briefly on the weekend but... More

Spent two nights at the Pines Inn at Lake Placid. Nicely placed for a short walk into town. Plenty of parking. Clean, comfortable but basic. No lift! and we were on the second floor with heavy bags. There is a housekeeping life -I suppose you could ask if you need assistance you could use this for bags. Bed was very... More

We were terribly disappointed in The Pines. The room was too small for 2 queen beds, pipes showing (one looked like a sewer pipe and was over one edge of a bed, others in the bath and bright orange and pink), just not acceptable for a Lake Placid hotel. You could sit on the toilet and wash you hands at... More

The only good thing about the room are the beds, they are decent, firm mattress. The decor of the washroom can't be simpler than that. The tiles on the floor looked dirty. Shower head was bad and the temp of the water was hard to control. All the door frames were roughly done (can't close tight). TV size in the... More

The location is great and owners seem nice BUT small ripped towels, small toiletries, internet only downstairs, and you can hear EVERYTHING everyone is doing! We slept in the truck the first night and had a better night's sleep! The shower head is at least 4-6 feet above you?! I yelp every time we eat out which is often, if... More

This is an amazing old girl from yester year that is owner operated and run. If you are looking to step back in time, and to settle into some ambiance then this is where you come. You are greeted with an oversized porch full of places to relax then move into the lobby where there is an oversized common room.... More

We stayed one night here. The hotel is a short walk from the lake. The rooms come with an electric radiator which took an hour to heat up. The shower head was pretty bad and the water temp was inconsistent. The room was adorable and clean. The beds very comfortable. No elevators!!
