We stayed in the Mallard Cottage which was amazing. The cottage has the best view from the porch. We highly recommend staying here and next time we come to lake placid this is exactly where we are going to stay! We felt right at home!!!

We stayed at the Placid Bay Inn "on Lake Placid" in early March, while visiting Paul Smith's College. We wanted to stay in a small, family run spot with some character! We stayed there during the Winter Carnival In Saranac Lake...Its close to both Placid & Saranac Lakes...The hotel was spotless and I liked the benches outside the rooms....The only negative is that I would like a coffe maker in the room or at the office!....Of course theres McDonalds a walk across the street!
