The location was in a very seedy part of long island. The shuttle bus from the hotel only drops you off at the subway stations, in order to get to Manhattan on the hotel bus costs 25 dollars. The parking area in the hotel parking lot only holds like 10 cars, its first come, first serve. If there is no... More

I work in management within the Hotel industry and know all the standards of the business. I went to NY for my anniversary and decided on a boutique hotel for a change. I will say yes the view is amazing of the city day or night if you get a penthouse we stayed on the 5th floor and it was... More

Stayed at the Ravel for 3 nights at the start of a 3 week tour of the NE States and Canada and have to confirm, as satisfaction per dollar goes this was the worst i have experienced. Albeit i understand that in NY the rates are much higher than anywhere else in the states, this hotel was still a very... More

Called ahead and asked for early check-in and was told it wouldn't be a problem since the hotel was not full and I was staying during the week. When I arrived, the people at the desk ignored me for a few minutes and then proceeded to tell me to wait in the lobby for 10 minutes for no apparent reason... More

Loved the view and room - it was really great to have the bath on the level below floor))) really liked it, the location is good. Breakfast was nutritious and tasty. Not far from metro station, has some shops nearby. Comfortable parking in front of the entrance.

We stayed at the Ravel last week after visiting 5 years ago and had a wonderful stay , the hotel was great then but has got even better . Large comfortable rooms with great beds and pillows, balcony with great views of the manhattan skyline and a shuttle bus to drop you at the nearest subways etc. Really courteous and... More

I really enjoyed staying the night at the Ravel Hotel a couple of weeks ago. It is fairly close to the city (with a beautiful view of the skyline). I LOVE the spacious shower and comfortable bed. It was also had a lot of space and great extras like a fridge that you normally don't get in NYC. The hotel... More

Furnishings are scratched, stained and have burn holes. Lamp shades are filthy. Wood Flooring is scratched. The view is great and having a balcony is a treat, but the room needs complete new furnishings. The computer in the lobby does not have a printer. Internet is not free. You cannot walk to anywhere--an isolated area. But, the view is great!

We traveled as a group of 6 adults at the beginning of May/ end of April. We had been recommended to stay in the middle of manhattan but we really liked the contemporary image of the ravel hotel. We are glad we decided to stay out of the hustle and bustle as it meant we could have a view of... More

The only plus points were the friendly reception ladies and the shuttle service to/from the local subway stations. Our room - although relatively clean - suffered from scruffy furnishings, walls and ceilings and the linen was not changed every day - we had to prompt them to do so. For a hotel that apparently welcomes young families, an inappropriate 'Passion... More
