Thought this place was a real gem, in terms of price and ease of travel into Manhatten. We stayed for two nights at Fort Place in August 2011. We chose Fort Place as we didn't fancy driving and parking on Manhattan and felt that the ferry ride from Staten Island would be a good way to arrive in NY.
