Ishasha Wilderness Camp at Queen Elizabeth National Park is really a wonderful place! You feel far away from every thing and every body. The Camp is beautiful in a very austere way but in every detail you see great care. The food is good and elegant in a homely dining room. The game drives at dawn and dusk rewarded us... More

We recieved a warm welcome from Neil the Manager and his staff. The accomodation consists of large luxurious ensuite tents, with a huge bed (with mosquita net), desk and chair, clothes storage area and comfortable chairs on the veranda. Chairs were pefect for armchair bird watching and we were visited by a gorgeous hornbill. The tents have been sited in... More

Just back after spending our final six days in Uganda at this fabulous place, staff very friendly and helpful, food remarkable for such an out of the way. Just a pity that Wild Frontiers supplied us with such a disinterested driver, I certainly could not bring myself to describe him as a "guide", checking your messages on a game drive... More

Just spent a night here and wished we had booked for 2. The tent was amazing looking over the river with a verandah and chairs. We arrived to an elephant across the river trumpeting to us. That evening enjoyed a romantic dinner under the stars for our wedding anniversary. Meals were delicious, staff helpful and the small attention to detail... More

Been here for 3 nights, the location is truly wilderness with spacious tents.Food was formidable as well the service and hospitality.Campfire besides the river with visit from huge Henri the hippo during your drink before dinner. Comment;the hot water shower is filled with water out off the river and is very smelly i think they must tell you before you go... More

Really loved our time here. The camp is without fences and so you really feel like you are truly in the 'wilderness' but with all the comfort and delights of a 5 star hotel - but how many 5 star beds can you lie in and hear lions roaring?! Will be back here if I ever get the chance.

Stayed here 11 years ago and again in early January 2013 and it really is an excellent place to stay. Ishasha is great for game and we were very lucky that we kept seeing a female lion with a sub-adult about 500 metres from the lodge. In fact the manager was telling us that in October some lions used the... More

What an amazing "camping' experience. The best night sleep I had during my recent trip to Uganda and Rwanda. The tents are all based along the river with private porches. My favorite spot was deck below the dining area, great place to view wildlife. The staff and food was fantastic. A great place to spend Christmas.

Ishasha Camp has an understated elegance and charm, with a feel of cabin/camp life bringing back some of my fondest memories. The camp is positioned in a lovely natural setting with views of the river that is just in front. It is wonderfully relaxing and would highly recommend if you need to rest and really get away from it all.... More

I have chosen to take my time to do this (and other) reviews, of our stay which was undertaken as part of a one-week, self-drive trip in July. The drive down the Ishasha Road was long (2 hours), slow-going (40 kmph), dry, dusty and noisy. We were totally exhausted at the end of it, but finally reached the southern sector... More
