Stayed here over the Easter long weekend and what a beautifully restored hotel it is. The detail of the refurbishments is excellent, the staff are friendly and very helpful. Well wort looking at if staying in Castlemaine.

Stayed here on business for three nights in March 2013. Never stopped in a ''Boutique'' hotel previously but looked forward to the experience. Anyone wanting a modern hotel with all the facilities will not find this hotel suitable. However, if you want a hotel with a differerence then stop here!
Bedrooms are full of antique furniture. The beds are superb...

I was determined to book the best room in Castelmaine as it was a birthday night. Drop the kids at Grandmas and enjoy the company of my partner .
The Empyre is the the most expenssive hotel in Castelmaine. I looked on trip advisor and there were only rave reviews. I thought it was a bit expensive but you get...

We stayed a night for a kid-free couple break. Beautiful, comfortable rooms, absolute comfort bathroom was gorgeous too. We also enjoyed the breakfast, which was included in the price, they were even willing to send a cafe latte up to my room so I could have in bed. I highly recommend.
It's very rare to find a place like this anywhere in the world. Fully restored 1860's hotel (formerly known as The Albion) true to its original character. The owner (John Ganci) has painstakingly overseen a fabulous restoration that is difficult to fault. Perhaps the only drawback is the steepish narrow staircase that leads to the upstairs rooms, but that simply...

We stayed here for one night recently and really liked the place. We stayed in the empyre suite, which I think was the best room in the house and it was lovely. The building is beautifully renovated and after seven years open has very little wear and tear, maintenance and cleaning is very well done.
The only disappointment was the...

My husband and I have just spend a night at the beautiful Empyre Hotel with my sister and brother in law. We took the two upstairs front rooms and couldn't have been more comfortable. They are so luxurious and have everything you need for a comfortable night's sleep. The pillows especially were wonderful. We would have loved good weather so...

My daughter (10) and I took my mother to the Empyre Hotel for her 80th Birthday in April, and the whole experience was wonderful. We had the two rooms opening on to the balcony at the front of the building, and it was fabulous. We were very lucky to have beautiful weather so were able to enjoy sitting on the...

We stayed here just for a night while in town for an event. We didn't have a meal so can't comment on those. The building has been renovated well with classy surroundings that aren't so overpowering you feel uncomfortable. It is a real pleasure to sit on the balcony with a drink and look over the historic Castlemaine streetscape. Castlemaine...

Lovely French antique furniture in modern room; parking and a couple of outdoor areas to relax. Quiet. We ate at the bistro for dinner and lunch, and had breakfast included with the booking. All very good. Accommodating staff were patient with our small group. Well situated close to shops and galleries.
Cater well for GF; included both soy and cow...
