Flaxhaven Lodge has so many wonderful revues on tripadvisor, it's hard to think of any superlatives that haven't been used! My wife and I stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed meeting John and Lee. They really are the most charming hosts. We had many a giggle with them in the relaxed atmosphere. Breakfasts were delicious and informative at the... More

This is long overdue but, despite the delay, we cannot forget our time at Flaxhaven because the whole experience was perfect in every way. John and Lee are the most delightful hosts and are not intrusive. They have achieved the balance of respecting their guests privacy but will provide information or help to ensure the stay is enjoyable. They always make... More

It is not the time lapse that is important but the people like yourselves who come to stay that matter! Thank you for your warm review, it was especially generous to be given such high praise. Thank you also for the very happy memories it brought back to us. More

My husband and I stayed with John and Lee at Flaxhaven Lodge for three nights. It's very private, quiet, nicely decorated, immaculately clean, and breakfasts are friendly and delicious. Especially loved the fresh veg and herbs from the garden. Much to do in the area, or just relax and enjoy some downtime. We would love to return!

Flaxhaven is an outstanding B&B - extremely well appointed and very spacious. The decor is lovely and the gardens - wow The location is outstanding as you get the country feel whilst still being able to enjoy the luxury of being in walking distance to many restuarants.John and Lee were great hosts. Can't wait to go back.

John and Lee have a stunning place here, and the hospitality is second to none. The accomodation was spotless and tastefully done with all the little touches you would expect from a boutique spot. The breakfast was lovely, so nice to have a change from normal cooked or continental ones on offer in your run of the mill hotels. All... More

- Old fashioned apartment with attention detail and huge backyard - The house is a bit off-road - Hosts are very warm and friendly like family - Homemade healthy breakfast with gourmet factor - There is a nice bar/restaurant in driving distance - You should stay more than one night and also take some time to visit the area

My wife and I stayed here for three nights, and found the accomodation excellent, clean and spacious. This B&B gives you the benefit of having your own entrance, which is very handy. John and Lee are very knowledgeable about the local area, very charming and cook a fantastic breakfast. The area itself is lovely - a mix of farmland and... More

Thank you Martin for your generous comments. We thought your observation regarding private entrances to the guest accomomdation was pertinent as this was a key preference from early surveys we conducted before designing our B & B. Pity about those cooler sea temperatures when you were here - that early summer was a bit unusual but now very pleasant !... More

Flaxhaven Lodge was the first destination on our New Zealand tour! There were five of us in our group and John and Lee made us so comfortable from the moment we walked in the door--- greeting us with wine, friendly smiles, and great conversation. Upon arriving, they arranged our dinner for us at Eggsentric- a quaint and enjoyable local spot... More

Spending time with a lovely family like yours Judy is one of the things that makes our business so worthwhile. Thank you for your generous comments and for including the photo of the garden. However, l can assure you the garden is not always immaculate! l guess it is because you saw it in the Spring that it was especially tidy!...
