The accommodations were very nice, breakfast was outstanding and the inn keepers very knowledgable about the area. All of their food recommendations were excellent. Would definitely stay here should I return to Asheville!

Welcome to the Hawk and Ivy. Come immerse yourself in a place of great beauty that nurtures both body and spirit. We are Asheville’s oldest eco bed and breakfast with a deep commitment to offering an experience that is green, sustainable, and honors the sacredness of all life. Our 1910 Farmhouse and guest cottage are filled with treasured family antiques, fine paintings and crafts. Lovely all cotton linens and down comforters cover the beds. Eve fills the rooms with fresh flowers and plants to create a feeling of simple elegance and comfort. A stroll on our 24 acres reveals wildflower meadows, mountain views, a pond with gazebo, and our magical, renovated barn, a perfect place for weddings, large events, or just a quiet cup of coffee watching for wild turkeys or deer in the meadow. The heart of the bed and breakfast is our organic gardens, nurturing both the body and soul with fresh flowers, herbs, vegetables, and delicious berries. Our guests rave about their healthy gourmet breakfasts where those berries and vegetables are served with local eggs and home cooked muffins. Eve is a life long gardener and highly published garden and floral designer. For the last two years she has been the chairman of Slow Food Asheville. We proudly take responsibility for being a Slow Food Bed and Breakfast, serving food which is locally grown and in season. We offer a perfect balance for those who wish to retreat in a rural setting and yet enjoy easy access to the restaurants and cultural offering of Asheville. We are so close to Asheville (20 minutes) and yet a world apart.
