Wow!! I can not believe the changes made since I was here last summer! I found out the grounds changed ownership they added a coffee bar added new games to the game room and its cleaner. I have a child and they have organized activities. I'm so excited to book another visit! 😃

Staff is very unhelpful and not pleasant. Tent sites are too close together and right next to a raid which takes away from it all. Only thing nice was the stream by the camp. "Arcade" room is lacking to say the least. Drunks all over being loud. The playground was run down. They did have nice bath houses I will... More

We stayed at honey bear camp ground with my 6 year old, our camp side was great and the renovated restroom made the trip even better. It a good location and very reasonable. This is a private campground, on raining days you can us the community hall to watch TV or have a complementary coffee. Camping sites are up against... More

In October 2012 we stayed at site A-19 towards the front of the campground. It is situated near the 'family room' and close to all the action. A-19 is a flat pull through site with full hookup and sewage. The site was perfect for our large Fleetwood pop-up that needs a black water hookup. We found Honey Bear a fantastic... More

This October would have been our 3rd year at Honey Bear. We made our reservations last Oct. for site A2 where we had previously camped. When I called to confirm this week, I found we had been moved to another site because a Work Camper was in that site and the campground was under new ownership. I asked if we... More

We took our 5 yr old here for 1 night and ended up staying another!! They had a family room with a TV, puzzles and games. They had a swing set, sandbox but the best was the creek that ran through the property it was shallow enough for her to play in. I recommend wearing rainboots or water shoes. The... More

We stayed in cabin C-8. It was small but very comfortable. The creek was directly behind the cabin. Staff was friendly. Plenty of things for the kids to do.

This is a very nice campground. We stayed in B7 with full hook-ups and found it to be nicely surrounded by trees on our awning side offering privacy. The staff is pleasant and attentive. Garbage is picked up daily keeping the area very clean. There are lots of woods offering shade. When we stayed there was always a breeze blowing.... More

This is a nice campground. The staff is friendly. We stayed in site C5, which was plenty spacious for us. It was on the little creek and there was a nice little wooden bridge next to it. No crazy rules, no bugs, no silly business. The stocked pond is rather a misnomer..it's more like a lovely little large puddle. We... More

Let me start by saying I am not a camper - its not my thing; however, my husband was running the Grandfather Mountain Marathon and we decided to to just camp here. It was awesome - It's so close to Boone & ASU, you can tell the grounds have been lovingly cared for - it really shows with all the... More
