An absolutely delightful B&B. This is not your ordinary small B&B with just a few rooms. This is a huge mansion with about 20 rooms. We had a King porch, which had french doors leading out to the screened-in porch. We spent quite a bit of time out there, overlooking the backyard and garden. It was very quiet and peaceful,... More

Boutique hotel from a Southern estate that was transformed in 1976? Southern charm oozes everywhere....right by the botanical gardens so you can go running in Charlotte's most lovely and upscale areas....they even have their own gardens. Well set up for the business traveler - and very close to the downtown banks and financial district. Way better than staying at another... More

The hotel was so charming! A little hard to find as Charlotte's streets are interesting to navigate. When you drive up you just know you are in for something special ... and this was a special treat as I travel 4 days a week on business and rarely stay in B&B's ... this stay may have changed my mind! The... More

We just wanted a nice local B & B for a getaway overnight to Charlotte. The Duke Mansion exceeded our expectations. Our room was HUGE with high ceilings and French doors to a screened in porch. The king sized bed was perfect and we were very happy with the breakfast menu the next day---with full wait staff and tablecloths it... More

Stayed 2 nights for a wedding. The place is absolutely charming; large, historic, and well-staffed. Breakfast was delicious. Surrounding neighborhood is older and fabulous. Very comfortable beds, large room/bathroom, though wish the shower was more up to date. We shared a large porch with the adjoining room - just wish it was a little warmer so I could have spent... I travel a great deal for business, and I made a conscious choice for 2011 to limit "chain" hotels. Whenever it fits my budget, I'm trying to stay in places with a bit more warmth, charm, and a personal touch. Well, the Duke Mansion wins the gold star so far! What an unexpected find. This Mansion is wonderfully situated in... More

This is my second stay this year in The Duke Mansion. This is an interesting not-for-profit trust running the Mansion. The rooms are amazingly spacious, decor is antique reproduction, and the beds/linens very nice and comfortable. The bathrooms are also very spacious. I don't normally stay in bed and breakfasts for business, but this is big enough for a lot... More

This B&B was recommended by both friends and family, none of whom stayed here themselves but had always wanted to. We're glad we did! It was a lot of fun staying here and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Becky gave us a warm welcome and a fantastic room with sleeping porch overlooking the back yard from the 2nd floor. The... More
