This was a Hampton Inn that has gone independent. Great front desk staff. A/C unit in my first room was broken. The front desk clerk immediately admitted that they had had numerous problems with that room's A/C unit and switched me to another room. (Why had that issue not already been addressed by management?) The next morning it was painfully...

Just returned from a stay at this pleasant lodge in the woods. While a little weathered, it is a very nice place. It was clean and the bed was really comfortable.....slept like a baby. Breakfast had a nice variety and the entire staff was very friendly and accommodating. You are within a 5 minute drive to the downtown area of...

We arrived with a large group-25 rooms in all on Friday April 27, 2012. Many of the rooms were not ready at 7 pm at night. The front desk clerk was frustrated and complaining how the morning staff had not printed out paperwork nor prepared key cards for our arrival. My room was adequate but not a Hampton inn. when...

This is a nice hotel, clean and comfortable despite beginning to show some age. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The lobby and breakfast area was very cozy and comfortable and nicely decorated with a mountain lodge theme. A very basic continental breakfast is provided but coffee and tea provided 24/7 was a nice touch. Will return.
My daughters (16 and 14) and I visited Highlands for a night. I was hoping for a B&B to add to the fun of the weekend, but none would take three people for one night. The Lodge was a nice alternative. The rooms were fine (although the blower-type heating system does not regulate temperature well) - the beds, blankets, and...

Booked this hotel as a last minute weekend getaway. Most other hotels were booked. Was a little concerned because it wasn't on the main street (I'd never been to Highlands before), but this was such a non-issue, as it's right around the corner. Location was great. Room was a standard Hampton-Inn style room. One can tell the hotel is old,...

Old fashion hotel with folksy people...enjoyed the Inn..breakfast menu could be improved perhaps to a hot buffet. We liked our room overlooking the porch and somewhat busy town...walking from the hotel was good proximity to anything needed
The area is not at the central, so it is very quiet, it makes me feel relax just like I'm really here for vacation. The hotel decoration simple but nice. The breakfast are varieties.
You will find that history, and the quiet walk around Whiteside mountain blends well with the friendly trip for acheese plate right down the street that accompanies a great bottle of wine and excellent conversation with the owner. The stay at the INN offfers easy access to town and beautiful surroundings.
