I recently spent two nights at the Mountain High Lodge in Highlands, NC and found it to be a wonderful experience. The accomodations were clean, the service was wonderful and they were so helpful in so many ways. We took the room with the fireplace and found it to be very cozy.

We found our room to be a typical double motel-style room from the 60's with an adequate vanity and a tub and shower with superior water pressure. Non smoking rooms are not enforced as our room had a strong tobacco and musty moldy odor. Decor and wallpaper was ancient and stained. No visible signs of remodeling or upgrading in spite of managements claims. Location, staff and external grounds are adequate
