We stayed in "Romance Cabin" #12 The Good: The owner was nice. The cottages are off the main highway. The view was pretty. We had a wood burning fireplace. Super cute cabin. The Bad: The ducks quack LOUD all hours of the night. You do have to bring your own firewood. (Lucky for us we thought to ask that question... More

My husband and I stayed in a romance cottage which was lovely. Very spacious and cozy. Paid a little extra to have the hot tub and it was WELL worth it after a long day on the slopes. Only 10 minutes from the top of catalahoochee ski resort. We will definitely stay again next time we're in Maggie Valley!! More

All of Mountain Joy Cottages have wood burning fireplaces (but no firewood), cable TV with HBO, BBQ grills, picnic tables, central heat and air, and fully equipped kitchens. Enjoy our large enclosed pool and relax in our hot tub year round, even when there is snow on the ground (there is no hot tub and the pool wasnt open because... More

It wasn't awful, but we won't be returning: (1) They advertise an enclosed, heated pool, but don’t tell you that it’s closed during the winter. Which is odd, considering it’s enclosed and heated. (2) The playground area was falling apart. The basketball hoop was lying on the ground. Only one of two swings was functional. The monkey bars are rotting.... More

These cabins are just what I want for a mountain weekend. We had #9, one bedroom w/bath, kitchen, living room downstairs...2 bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. Rocking chairs and a swing on the porch, bbq grill provided, indoor pool was very cool and very clean, the hottub was very dirty but who cares. Located minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and... Friendly owner; clean, beautifully landscaped property, lots of leisure activities for all, and adorable cabins. If your idea of a mountain vacation includes trout fishing in the pond, swimming in the heated inclosed outdoor pool, rocking on your private porch, or romancing in your jacuzzi in you room, then you will love this place. The honeymoon cabin's great cedar smell... More

On our last visit to Maggie Valley, we discovered a unique little place called Mountain Joy Cottages. After a brief look around we decided it would be a nice place to bring the family. We booked two cabins for Labor Day weekend. The cabins are located near lots of restaurants and shops in the downtown area, but it is off... More
