The location was convenient for walking around in the historic district as well as in and around the downtown area. The room was nice and comfortable. Would probably return.

A buddy and I stayed here while attending a conference at the Marriott downtown -- we don't like being cooped-up in conference hotels -- and boy am I glad we did. Doris and Gary are lovely hosts at the Oakwood Inn within the historic suburb of Oakwood. It's about a 20 minute walk to the conference site, which is enough...

We stopped at the Oakwood Inn on our way to and from Florida. The rooms are comfortable, the owner, Doris, offers generous hospitality, her husband makes wonderful chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies, and the Inn is located near the Raleigh conference center. When we were there the Inn was full with people attending a computer teaching conference and a...

Felt as if I was transported back in time. The house itself is historical, and is surrounded by blocks and blocks of other historical homes (a walking guide is available at the Inn). Furnishings are lovely, and our room was no exception. We had a corner room with a private porch. A bit nippy in March, but still loved swinging...

Raleigh is beautiful, and the Oakwood Inn is a delightful place to stay. Near city center, walking distance to great dining places, and the Inn itself is excellent. Big comfortable rooms, a bed it's hard to get out off and the friendly landlady serves a mean breakfast.
A lovely old home. The breakfast is more than adequate, the inn-keepers were accomodating and, luckily, our fellow guests were amusing and informative. We had the Pell Room. The Inn has a large library of movies to borrow, which is a plus. However, check out the picture of the tv on their web-site. The tv has now been updated to...

We had an early Saturday morning meeting in Raleigh and decided to stay in a B & B. We found Oakwood on the Bed and Breakfast website, liked the info and pictures and booked effortlessly on the Oakwood website. Doris accomodated our friends with setting up a restaurant for dinner and even had a printed 'invitation' for our dinner reservation...

We stay in B&Bs often. Rather than stay at a resort where our friends were getting married, we selected the Oakwood Inn. We had a room on the first floor that included a bathroom, windows on 3 sides, and a wonderful porch with a swing for early morning coffee and reading. Loved the porch, loved the historical atmosphere of the...

The Inn is in walking distance to downtown Raleigh - many shops, restaurants and museums. It is a lovely home in a historic neighborhood full of other restored homes and well-cared for gardens. My guestroom was spacious, comfortable, nicely furnished with antiques. There was a new TV which you don't often get in B&Bs and wireless which was great. Nice...

We were a bit doubtful driving through miles of declining neighborhoods on our way to the Inn, but pleasantly surprised once we arrived. The Inn, one of the oldest in Raleigh, is in the historic Oakwood district and run by a very nice couple. We were the only guests but had a warm welcome and a nice room with a...
