The hotel is on the banks of the Elbe, and makes good use of its location with balconies overlooking the river and the restaurants and spa using the outside space well. The Elbresidenz is a beautiful hotel with lovely gardens and an excellent restaurant in the small Saxon town of Bad Schandau. The hotel is large with rooms facing the town, inner courtyard and the gardens and the river. I stayed for five nights and found this hotel to be one of the very best I have stayed in. It is beautifully located on the banks of the Elbe. Perfect service, exquisite rooms, nice spa area with pool. Huge hotel, it also has a Michelin-guide (1 star) restaurant in addition to two other restaurants for smaller pockets. Deserve their 5 stars!

The facilities are superb - from the rooms through the spa, lounges and restaurants. It is fairly new, so everything is still in pristine condition. The cheaper rooms look into the large inner courtyards, but this makes them peaceful albeit without a view. We spent more time in the gardens, at the pool/spa, and exploring the astonishingly beautiful surrounding countryside.... More

This is a beautiful hotel with full-service spa: large indoor pool, saunas etc. The rooms are very nice. The food is outstanding!!!! Awesome breakfast buffet. Lots of different and comfortable indoor and outdoor seating areas, terraces, gardens etc. Although it is a large hotel, it is broken up into smaller areas quite nicely and so has a very intimate feel....
