I had hight expectation after reading their brochures : "FREE DINNER DAILY . FREE SURFING LESSON", all of that for 20$ per night ! awesome. The reality is different : the free BBQ is actually 3$ (still very cheap for a burger and 2 saussages), and you have to pay 20$ to rent a board for the free surfing lesson.... More

I stayed with a couple of friends and we had a blast. We did only stay one night but we were impressed. Our dorms were an 8 share and the room was clean. My only complaint is that there is only 2 plugs in the bathroom but that was worked around. The location itself is right by the beach and... More

Its just ok really, its all a bit tired and old looking and looks like it could do with a good clean and a quick lick of paint. Also everyone who was staying there seem to work there too! Strange!! Much nicer places to stay around the area.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here a week or so ago and we had such a good time, the location was spot on so close to the small village and beach, and we got on well with both members of staff. The bedding was interesting yes but it was clean so what it had pictures of spaceships on, we're backpackers... More

I don't understand all the bad review's? I can fault the no locks on the doors but everything else was top. Friendly staff, the old chap works hard and has got a real good hostel, free BBQ, chilled out lounge and plenty of banter. Even had had one of the staff take me out fishing. When your traveling you can't... More

Really enjoyed here!! Pick up from the greyhound was on time. Hostel was lovely (although there were no locks on the doors). Very clean and tidy. Staff were great! Very helpful. Gave us directions to the Town of 1770. One thing we did not like is that there was only one toilet and shower between a room of 12 and... More

I really like this hostel. The owner is a really great guy and made us feel very welcome here and was very helpful. The location of the hostel is great as its next to the shops and a short walk to the beach- what more can you ask for! You get a free dinner every night which is a BBQ... More

We booked 2 nights here for 3 of us and had a brilliant time - the owner is one of the nicest hostel owners we've met on our travels, has a great sense of humour and had us all laughing a lot, the staff here know loads about the area and are only too happy to help on giving advice.... More

Went to this hostel for the free surf lesson. what a rip off !!! lesson was a DVD and the so called on the beach surf lesson was on the floor in the hostel then I had to pay $20 to hire a surf board. Should have gone to the proper surf school around the corner and got a real... More

Despite all the bad reviews below, we had an excellent time staying here. The staff were very nice and helpful and organised loads of activities, such as free surf lessons and a free BBQ every night. The rooms are clean and spacious, as are the bathrooms. Kitchen is large and has everything you need. I don't understand why people have... More
