The rate is cheap. Everything is OLD. The room was dirty, the beds swayback. The tub for showering "SQUISHED" when you step into it. It has water under it. They have a continential breakfast. You can make your own waffle - however the waffle maker has several inches of grease indicating it is never cleaned. The other things were fair. More

I stayed at this hotel for one night on my way to the Outer Banks. The staff was rude and the room was filthy. My door didn't lock, two lights didn't work, the bathroom had dirty towels and bugs in the tub, and the toilet was dirty as well. Upon pulling back the bed blankets, I discovered a bloodstain on... This hotel has been under new ownership since April 2010. Many improvements have been made to the property, both in staffing and in the property itself. All of the rooms have been updated/remodeled and now most include mic/refridgerators. We also offer the biggest breakfast for the price range. We welcome you to come visit and see the changes we have... More

We stayed at this hotel to attend a private event with some friends. Just to enter our room you had to use the key and kick the door a couple of time..this had to be repeated more then one each time you tried to get in. There were holes in the ceiling of the bathroom with paint peeling off badly.... More

Lobby looked super nice and clean. 1st room we were given smelled of smoke and the A/C didn't work. Went to the desk and they moved us with no problems. 2nd room was fine. Room 201 King. This room was clean, had no odor and was perfect for a quick overnight before going to the gem mines in Hiddenite. We... More

Wonderful place to bed down for one night while visiting gem mine in nearby Hiddenite. Great location just across from east-bound exit and clean, comfy rooms. Building was generic exterior corridor, and probably circa sixties or seventies, but obviously had spent time as a Holiday Inn Express as per the blue and white stucco and 'wagon-wheels' motif. Only complaint was... More

For the Filthy Rich...This is NOT a 5 star hotel OR CITY. If thats your taste and preference, don't stop in Statesville & DRIVE THROUGH TO CHARLOTTE. I stayed at this hotel in March, July, August & most recently October 31st of 2008. The Truth: You do get what you pay for..you can't expect champagne on a beer budget. I... More

The hotel lobby looked ok. We checked in and the girl at the front desk informed us that the laundry facilities were broken, she couldn't recommend a restuarant as she didn't eat anywhere and we should just go to our room and then try to find a laundromat. We drove around to the back of the hotel and opened the... More

Upon entering the lobby, this appeared to be a 5 star hotel! It had beautiful furniture, coffee ready to go, and a great continental breakfast offered. The staff was less than helpful. I asked where a local movie theater was and they told me to look in the phone book in my room. I had to wait and ask directions... More

We just spent 3 days at this motel. Our room had 2 double beds, 1 bar of soap, 1 shampoo, 3 bath towels, 3 wash clothes (one of which had hair inbeded in it), 1 bath mate (with ware holes the size of my thumb nail). When we asked for more shampoo and towels they looked at us as if... More

We just got back from a trip down south and stayed at this Econo Lodge. Upon entering the room, you could immediately smell the mildew in the air. In addition, the caulk in the bathroom was falling off and was covered in black mold! The bottom of the shower curtain was covered in black mold as well. The bed felt... More
