We stayed here for three days in April 2013. Room was great, wish we could have taken the bathroom home with us. The food was delicious, plus the added entertainment of watching it being cooked over the big open fire in the dining room, the chef must have been made of asbestos. Really nice place. Room was immaculate [we stayed in Ellis] and the restaurant was good [tasty, unpretentious, good value] as well. There is a nice walk around the edge of the deer park. Very cosy and enjoyable weekend.

Had an excellent meal with colleagues last night. All 8 meals were spot on. I had the rib steak which was very good. The atmosphere is great and the staff first class and very attentive. The also have a home brewed chilli vodka....that was very hot. Can't wait to go back!

If you're passing through and get a chance then try this place out. Get booked in the Elk room if you can! Do take a walk around and admire the decor, its oddly superb. A fantastic atmosphere, food, loved the decor & the open fires! Enjoyed it so much we popped in again the following day. The bar snacks are worth a look as well. A must visit if you are in the area! Definitely book a table as it gets busy.
