I took a little trip to Smithers and spent one night at the Sandman. The lady at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful. I dont have a credit card so I had to put a deposit down and thought that it was very nice the next day how honest the owners were that I do not forget about... More

I have recently stayed at the Smithers Sandman Inn. The staff were very helpful and accomodating to any and all requests I had. The room, though not large, was very clean and cozy! As a Tim horton's junkie, the fact that there is one right beside the hotel was absolutely great. Overall, I would definetly stay again!!! More

I have stayed here twice. It is by no means the nicest hotel on the planet or even in Smithers. It's a little old and dilapidated. It's got a not terribly pleasant odor about the place. There is a Tim Horton's (I think) drive thru in the parking lot and I was kind of yelled at more than once while... More

Stayed for two nights, attending a wedding in Smithers. Rooms were very clean and had a fridge and microwave. Right next door to a Tim Hortons - did not hear any noise as rooms were on other side of hotel. No elevator but only two stories. Great Value. More

During our 6 weeks of travel throughout Alaska and Canada this was the most unwelcoming hotel we stayed in. We had booked this hotel in May and now wish we had made a different choice. On arrival it appeared to be an effort for the man at reception to even acknowledge you, certainly no hello or welcome - a most... More

This is one of the oldest Sandman Inns in the BC Interior and this presents one with some significant constraints. There are no public areas at all here, and the place is completely unacceptable for those in wheelchairs or who otherwise have significant mobility issues: no elevator and a lot of stairs to get into the place, room doors not... Continueing with my northern business travel, I had the Sandman Inn Terrace, offered to make me a reservation at the Smithers Sandman. I remember where it was located. (beside a Tim Hortons) this could be good and bad. My stay was exceptional. Throughout my stay the front desk always made sure to say hello and ask how I was doing?... More

The hotel is situated alongside a 24hrs Tim Horton and on the corner of two main highways controlled by traffic lights. We had been booked into the hotel by travel agents but we were allocated a room looking over the Tim Horton cash desk and vehicle lane. With the prospect of two nights disturbed by intercom system, idling engines and vehicle lights... My son and I were on a road trip from Oregon to Homer, AK. After driving all day (10am - 2am) we arrived at the hotel we reserved the night before through Expedia. The owner opened the door for us after we pushed the outside doorbell, barefoot and disheveled. He took my name and looked through his records, having a... More

The rooms are very dated, small and noisy. The front desk is only staffed for part of the day. I booked this hotel because of the "fitness centre" but it was a complete joke. One night was more than enough for me - I will not be back. More
