This Lady has transformed this gorgeous grand home from great to spectacular. The second you enter you feel welcome. The brook, hot tub, Labyrinth, Country sounds and immaculate accommodations all compliment the food. Jill is warm and giving and we cannot wait to stay at the Glendyre again asap. As an added bonus, should you need a relaxing massage...she is... More

My husband and I were in Halifax to watch our daughter perform in a theatre production and we decided to extend our trip to Cape Breton. We had been before, seven years ago and I ever since I pined to return; however, I didn’t realize that many Cape Breton inns, attractions and restaurants are not open until late May, early... More

My husband I stayed at the Inn at Glendyer in August, 2011. We LOVED it. It's beautifully renovated while maintaining the the home's original charm. The grounds are lovely with 2 donkeys and as well as a hot tub tucked into in the trees by a creek. Jill, the owner, is lovely. She cooks a hardy breakfast with good coffee... More

I visited Mabou in late September and had a wonderful stay at the Inn at Glendyer. It is situated only about 5 mins away (driving) from the Red Shoe Pub and was easy very to get to. The house itself was cozy and welcoming. Even though Jill, the owner, was still at work when we arrived, she had left a... More

The 'Inn' is really a heritage house adjacent to a pretty stream that once provided power to a mill. The owner, Jill, has done a lovely job in maintaining the ambience of the place without compromising the amenities. The downstairs lounge is quite Victorian and a bit gloomy but our upstairs suite overlooking the stream was spacious, with a step-down... More

We spent three nights at the Inn while visiting Mabou, driving the Ceilidh and Cabot Trails. Our room was cozy and quiet, with a large bathroon. Breakfasts were delicious with eggs, fruit, scones, breakfast meats and lively conversation with the other guests. Jill was a wonderful host, when not making breakfast or tending to the rooms, she has a massage... More

The Glendyer exceeded our expectations, even after reading the sort of reviews below. Everything I can think of to say has been well said elsewhere on these pages. I would only add that if you want to maximize the musical experience, be prepared to stay up late; things around here really start happening around 10 pm. Jill had some great... More

The Inn is a few kilometers out of town, but well worth the short drive. The setting is lovely, next to a stream. The proprietress was very helpful, providing us with the locations of the infamous Red Shoe Pub for dinner and information about the Ceilidh across the street. The room was clean and comfortable. I would not hesitate in... More

My husband & I stayed in the suite. The bedroom, sitting room & bathroom were comfortable, immaculate & beautifully decorated. Jill, the owner, was friendly & went out of her way to be helpful. She was on top of all the details that make a perfect B&B. She has a book in the room describing what the B&B offers(a labyrinth... More
