We spent a night at the Fair Isle Motel during the warm spell this past summer but didn't sleep well because of the noisy air conditioner. Because it was such a hot night we had to run the A/C the whole night or the room temp would go up to 33C. Otherwise, the check-in was easy, the staff friendly and... More

We had changed our plans last minute and decided to stay a night in Whycocomagh. We were able to get a room at the last minute. Check-in went well and we were provided good information on restaurants. The room was just above the check-in but was still pretty quiet. The view of the lake was great looking down the hill.... Me, my hubby and daughter spent a night there and it's a perfect stop while on the Cabot Trail. Very clean and the owner is very nice and will go out of her way to make your stay pleasant. Thank you! Sheila More

Hi Christine, Thanks for your hospitality. We enjoyed the first night on Cape Breton in Fair Isle Motel very much. The breakfast and the cinamon buns at Charlene's were great too. But most of all we would like to thank you for redirecting us through Baddeck to the other side of the Cabot Trail. The views were truly spectacular. We... More

This well-kept and attractive property is well suited for touring on Breton Island. Not far from Baddeck and entrance to Cabot Trail. Manager assisted us numerous times in various needs we had. A nice alternative, price-wise to the trendier properties in the Baddeck area. More

Clean room. Very nice cleaning lady, receptionist and owners. Went out of their way to help me for a special request I had. Nice view from room. Pool seemed immaculate. Would love to see the carpet refreshed. Toiletries are basic shampoo and soap. So bring the other little comforts from home. Absolutely worth the price! More

We spent ten delightful days at this spot overlooking the Bras D'Or lakes. We could walk one direction to Charlene's Bayside Restaurant for excellent seafood chowder or walk the other direction for baked goods at the Farmer's Daughter where we "discovered" oat cakes that we spent weeks trying to duplicate when we got home to CT, and the most amazing... Three things come to mind when I think of Cape Breton. Simplicity, kindness, and beauty. From the road, the Fair Isle Motel appears simple. A long, well tended structure atop a hill, it has nice grounds and a well maintained pool. It looks average, but once inside the rooms are quite lovely. Recently (and lovingly) redecorated, they have comfy beds,... More

We stayed here for two nights on a recent trip to Nova Scotia. The rooms are clean, the owner very friendly and helpful, and the rates were excellent value. Even though we had originally only booked one night here, the owner graciously booked us in for another night at a reduced rate -- even though it was now July 1st,... More
