Casa de la Real Aduana is a fantastic small hotel in the heart of Patzcuaro. The owners Didier and Gemma did an outstanding job adapting a beautiful historic house in a small boutique hotel. The whole place is fantastic, all rooms and common areas are tastefully decorated with beautiful art pieces. Didier and Gemma are also excellent hosts, they make... More

Located in the heart of Patzcuaro, this Boutique Hotel is nothing but fantastic. The excellent taste in all single details from the soap to the arrangement of every single object not only in the room but elsewhere provides a magical and relaxing feeling. Didier’s excellent taste in music and audio supplies left my fiancé and me completely speechless. Gemma’s excellent... More

We've already been twice to Gemma and Didier's enchanted place and each time we feel better and better. We brought friends and they can't stop talking about it either. Amazing boutique hotel for the discriminate traveller who expects the best. Only that you will get better than that. The hosts are making you feel so welcome that you feel you... More

Let's see.... how can we praise Real Aduana in terms that travellers haven't already used.... "Elegant", "peaceful" "charming", " are already taken. Oh well. How about our hosts, Didier and Gemma: "Thoughtful", "Gracious", "Attentive". Never mind, you get the idea. We couldn't have imagined a more welcoming ending to an arduous day's drive from Guanajuato than stepping through the gates... More

The casa, is carefully keep by Gemma y Didier who have made this hacienda like house a charm and picturesque but modern place to stay. They personally welcome you and the staff is very well trained. What I liked most was my Architectural-Digest-like room (they only have five), the breakfast near the fireplace and their huge DVD collection which is... More

When we tired of out beautiful room we would tour the rest of the hotel, visiting the library, the office, circling the patio every inch a treat for the eyes: paintings, sculpture....We orded a special dinner of salmon which was perfectly prepared, the wine well selected. We savored every moment of the experience and enjoyed interesting conversations with our hosts.

We were in Patzcuaro on business but the owners of this boutique hotel made us feel like we were also on a mini holiday. The entire staff will do anything to insure their clients comfort. The ultimate in amenities..the best of bed linens, great shower and hot tea and snack in the suite at the end of the day. The... More

We stayed at the Casa de la Real Aduana for 4 days. It was an unbelievable experience. The decoration of the rooms, the lush garden, and especially the host and owners made our stay a remarkable experience. Didier is a french professional and highly successful international photographer and Gemma an artistic person. Both have great talent which they used to... More

Having stayed in boutique hotels and B&B's all over the world, I must say that this is one of the premier. The sophisticated beauty of this restored, colonial hacienda and its courtyards, the friendliness of the staff and hospitality of the owners is unforgettable. To top it off the breakfast was delicious. Oh, and there was wine and cheese served... More

We recently stopped in to this hotel to find out about its art exhibitions and concerts. We entered through the unlocked gate and were in the front area of the central courtyard. The owners came running out and we were accused of entering a private home. We explained the reason for our visit to the 'hotel', to which he replied... More

These people, without name, who we do not know, who “stopped“ after having opened the access gate without authorization WERE NOT OUR GUESTS. They never got in contact with any of our reservation or administration services. They entered without stopping at the reception office. The reception clerk reported the group entering the corridors of the guest-rooms, eating and taking pictures... More
