Though the lodgings in Coba are sparse this is a little gem right on the shore of Lake Coba. The rooms had a quaint functional design about them. Part of the vast Coba ruins is right on their property, in a side courtyard! The alcoves and halls also have genuine Coba artifacts on display. Swimming pool after a hot day... More

Leaving the mega-monster Cancun, we drove down to visit Tulum and Coba and I booked a night for April 8th, 2012, and should have booked two nights or more and blown off the Tourist Trap of the Hotel Zona. This wonderful little hotel which is situated within walking distance of the Coba ruins and facing a fairly good size crocodile... More

We stayed here nearly 25 years ago and loved it.Today the beds tucked into niches in the wall don't quite cut it. There are genuine ancient ruins in the courtyard. Nice pool in the interior, open to the sun. As this is the only REAL hotel in town, there isn't much choice,. The first morning there was a 5 foot... More

Coba suffers from a few things, among them not many lodging options (it's in a very rural area of the Mayan jungle) and not much information about the options online. This hotel is brightly painted, has great outdoor space facing the beautiful lagoon, and a really nice pool in the center courtyard which all of the rooms face. The rooms... More

The location is great in order to get an early start at the Coba ruins. It's a 10-minute walk down the road. The hotel doesn't offer very much for evening, though. The food at the restaurant was fine for a supper. We took a miss on breakfast because one morning there were so many people, the service was slow and... More

The hotel is easy to find and only 200m from the entrance of the site. Also not to miss a tour around the lake that is near the hotel. You’ll be able to see lots of kinds of birds and also crocodiles! Anyway, great location if you want to visit the ruins as it is next to the entrance. Great... More

Our vacation in Akumal was interrupted by Hurricane Rina. We were a part of the refugees that went to Coba to escape the storm. Our property manager booked us into this hotel. Yes, the town of Coba is not downtown Cancun. This hotel is like an old time hacienda with rooms on three sides around the pool. The front section... More

Villas has a great location - easy walk to the Coba site and local shops/restaurants. Also, it is a short drive to the cenotes. The pool is great and the restaurant is very good. The rooms are a little small, but we didn't travel to a sightseeing destination just so we could hang out in our rooms. The general manager,... More

We stayed at the Villas Arqueologicas in Coba for one night. As it was low season they only had a couple of guests. Nevertheless the service provided was brilliant. Geourgeous food! Short walk to the archeological sights. Rooms could be a little bit more spacious but that's dine as it is an old-style hacienda building. Wish we had had more... More

Rooms are like monastery cells, but in a good way - like you are in a secluded and cosy cloister, which in a way you are. The rooms encircle a very pretty swimming pool on three sides, with the other side an attractive tiled restaurant & bar. The service feels like it's run by the government though - the staff... More
