House is immaculately clean, the room I had was very spacious and pleasant. If you want a completely anonymous place to stay whereby nobody knows or cares how or where you are then this is probably not the place for you, it's kind of halfway between a standard b&b and living in someones house. We have just had a wonderful eighteen day stay, at Drake House Amersham, clean, large, comfortable, bright room with en-suite, was home from home... “Frustrating place to stay”

My time at Drake house was very frustrating. There were stringent rules which all boarders had to abide by, most of which were wholly unrealistic. The biggest problem was the severe lack of privacy. All the doors were fire doors. Yet everytime I returned to my room I found the doors held open with door stops which negated the safety... More

The room was clean, but that's about it. A long list of ridiculous rules you have to follow, for example maximum 3 min showers (yes, THREE minutes), and mind you - no eating in the room! The owner was eccentric (in a bad way), and simply impossible to deal with - don't count on any kind of cooperation. Needless to... More

There is no rule regarding water usage but we advise, as do many establishments, sensible restraint simply so that at busy times there is enough hot water for everyone. As to being eccentric we are all different; beauty is in the eye of the beholder :) More
