What a shame! We visited one saturday afternoon having prebooked a table for afternoon tea. We had visited, for the same, a couple of years ago and really enjoyed a delicious traditional afternoon tea in the courtyard but this visit was terrible. We were barely greeted at the door by someone who was busy setting up tables for dinner (felt... More

We stayed at the Crown for the weekend for a reunion of friends. The setting is great and the rooms very quirky because of the age of the buidling (we were in the main hotel - though the courtyard rooms look quite spacious andw ill be quieter as they are away from the road - though you never know what... I recently organised a wedding for my daugter at The Crown. It is a fabulously atmospheric place for a low key but stylish wedding. The character of this old coaching inn provided the perfect backdrop that needed little additional enhancement and which stunned our guests. The food was amazing, tasty, seasonal and delicious washed down by some superb wines. The... More

We stayed here for the first time in early April to visit family in Pinner We have looked for somewhere different to stay in the North West part of London for some time now and were not disappointed. If travelling from the North down the M40 you are 15 minutes away from the Beaconsfield exit The good news, Amersham is... More

We stayed two nights. Lovely location, lovely hotel, great room but services need more attention. Kettle not working; one towel between two people; no replenishment of tea and milk supplies; no clean crockery on day 2; ....... Reception staff put all this right when asked but at the price guests shouldn't have to ask. There is plenty of competition in... More

Stayed with 8 friends to celebrate my wifes birthday ,dined elsewhere and glad we did . Given that we live in amersham this was supposed to be a treat and it didnt deliver . The postives are the building itself which is lovely and the quirkey nature of the place it has a great atmosphere. However the service is simply... More

Decided to give this a review as I based my booking on others' reviews! Booked this hotel with a deal through travel zoo and was generally pleased. Great value for money which is why this rating is a 4...still a few things to iron out if paying full price... High points - the bar with log fire, the historic wall... More

On the whole, a lovely experience. The hotel had a wonderful ambience with its oak beams, creaky floorboards and roaring fires. It was immaculately clean everywhere and the room was of a very high standard with comfortable bed and crisp white sheets. The bathroom was also excellent with a powerful shower and spotlessly clean. The manager maintained a good presence... More

I have been here numerous times. When I went in September I was, as usual impressed with the cleanliness and the lovely ambience. The standards of the food and the service had dropped. I had to ask for various things which were missing, the food was lacking in flavour and texture, and most of the waiting staff were unaware and... More

Stayed overnight before a family funeral the next day. The room initially seemed cold and dark but it soon warmed up once we adjusted the radiator and it was actually quite quaint with it's beams and floorboards. The bed was very comfy and had lovely soft pillows and sparkling white bed linen. We had afternoon tea by the open fire -... More
