We stayed for two nights at the end of may. It was a lovely old fashioned pub and the rooms were lovely and clean on arrival. We had the twin room, but most of the rooms are four poster. There was tea and coffee and biscuits and also a small bottle of complimentary wine and two bottles of water. The bathroom... More

We spent two nights here and loved it. We stayed in Pindale and thought the overall decor and ambience was lovely. The food was very good and reasonably priced and the derbyshire breakfast lasted us all day

I have just come back from spending the night here & I thought it was a great place with bags of character. When we arrived a really nice young lady took us to our room (Derwent) and gave us some information. We decided to eat our tea here, the bar/restaurant area was busy but it didn't feel packed it was... More

Me and the other half stayed here for one night but we wish it had been longer, Beautiful rooms and very comfy beds, could do with some redecoration but i would stay here again regardless. Gorgeous view of Peveril Castle. Had our evening meal here and it was top notch, loved the idea of the pick and mix bangers and... More

We have just returned from a two night stay in ye olde nags head and stayed in the Derwent room. We enjoyed the novelty of sleeping in a 4 poster bed and any b and b which leaves a small bottle of wine and nice biscuits is good in my book. Breakfast was good quality and service quick. However few negative... More

We were in Castleton for two nights & decided to eat here on one of those nights as the menu looked good & real ale we like was being advertised. Unfortunately when we asked for Black Sheep they had run out of it two days previously but were still advertising it outside. There were other beers available so we had... More

We had a meal there and the food was very good! My boyfriend had a steak burger and he liked it very much. I had fish and chips. Portions were huge, service fast and efficient. The place has a very good location, easy to find, in the centre of Castleton. There's a free parking for customers. Very cosy and good... More

We had a very pleasant meal here. Staff were welcoming and there was a pleasant buzz around the pub, without it being over-crowded. I had plaice on sun-dried tomatoes and my partner had venison stew served with a giant Yorkshire pudding. I finished with a banoffee waffle (an interesting variant on banoffee pie, I thought). I'm glad I didn't get... More

We stopped by through Castleton to have something to eat. The exterior of the pub was so lovely and traditional and not like any of the pubs I have been in. We were welcomed by lovely staff. There were 2 log fires and they let so much heat out. It was lovely to hear the crackling of the fire from... More
