Set in a lovely rainforest it is a great layout and close to cape trib beaches and lookout and local cafe/pub. Service was friendly.... But if the desk is unattended it can be a 15 minute wait to chat with staff. However you have to be really keen on nature! ... Geckos and crickets in the bed even though the... More

Stayed back in 2008 - we stayed here for one night. Spent most of that night out exploring the rainforest in pitch black. But, the Ferntree Lodge provided everything we needed - large room, bathroom, air conditioning... there's a restaurant on the property which provides overpriced and mildly satisfying food. But, what can you expect when you are in the... More

Wish we had read the reviews before going here. Travel agent booked for us and we were up for an adventure. This is the wet season, so yes it rained buckets upon our arrival. The room was terribly stuffy and musty smelling. Ants were crawling on the walls, bed and in the bathroom. Pulled the sheets back and found a... More

Dear dianeandjack Thank-you for your recent comments regarding your stay at Ferntree Rainforest Lodge in Cape Tribulation. We appreciate your feedback and will pass your comments on to the team. We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to run a lodge in the middle of the oldest rainforest in the world, and certainly understand that our green season can... More

We recently visted the resort , we only stayed one hour before checking out , mainly due to becoming unwell during our travels there , also it was the hottest day in two years and the facilities did not cater well for this , our room was very small very hot dirty and my pillow smelt of previous occupants sweaty... Dear Janice W, We are sorry to hear that you were unwell during your recent trip to the Daintree, and recognise that unfortunately the only option we have for medical care in the immediate area is the Cow Bay medical centre which is open between 9am to 4pm Monday to Thursday with only a Nurse on staff. Perhaps our reception... More

It's very quiet in the Daintree and I'm sure operators are doing their best to keep their properties open for those that are travelling. The environment is very harsh on infrastructure and it is a constant battle to balance the books. That said Ferntree is very tired, with lots of maintenance required. The room rates are very cheap and our... More

Dear Essenceofgoodtaste Thank-you for your recent feedback in relation to your stay at Ferntree Rainforest Lodge. Your comments regarding the environment being harsh on infrastructure are correct, however, I am very disappointed to hear that our housekeeping staff did not service the room correctly and appreciate you passing this information on to us. I travelled with friends from Cairns to this amazing location, my first time in the Daintree and Cape Tribulation and it's everything the postcards show. We arrived Saturday and departed Sunday afternoon, a short and sweet stay. The Ferntree Lodge is set well within the rainforest and as other reviewers have said is a short trip to the most spectacular... More

Being from Far North Queensland, we thought we may not be as impressed as we were...it's beautiful at Cape Tribulation. Not a great deal to do, in the way that some people are used to, but there are walking tracks aplenty around the area & beaches, only a hop, skip & jump away from the Resort. There are several lovely... More

We stayed here for a couple of nights this month, and wished we were staying longer - it was our favorite stop in our tour of North Queensland. I have read the other reviews - and yes - this is not a five star resort, but this is not what it sets out to be and the big plus is... More

Hello Nijinsky5 Wow, thank you so much for your review. It is so gratifying to receive such good feedback from someone who understands the destination and what the resort is all about. The spectacular flying foxes are still squabbling and entertaining our guests, I said “Hi” for you, but I think they were too busy arguing with their neighbours! Looking... More

Stayed one night in a cabin. Although the 2 pools were lovely the accommodation wasn't. A cracked tap fitting in the bathroom basin made it difficult to turn on the tap, the hot water ran out out half way through my quick shower, there was half used food and drinks from previous occupants left in fridge, the smoke detector was... Hello Buttonlily Thank you for your candid report, we take all feedback extremely seriously. The hot water systems are all instantaneous, there must have been a flow problem, we are servicing all units at present. A graduated program is in place to replace all tap fittings at the same time. Housekeeping was obviously of concern and your comments have been... More

Stayed 1 night as part of a tour by Tropic Wings. "Flashpacker" room for 3 people; ensuite bathroom, kettle, bar fridge, no TV (good thing -- why spoil a rainforest experience with crappy TV). Comfortable bed. Everything quite basic, but I didn't want anything more. Pity that there was no fly screen on the windows, so we did not want... More
