Passing through Charters Towers and picked at random. The rooms were not as clean as they should have been, the non-smoking designation was dubious (smelled strongly of stale cigarettes). However, it was quiet, the bed was a comfortable king size and the room had reliable hot water for the shower. Paid $105 for the double room.

Typical 3 star a bit tired. Good location walking distance to main street (Gill) where Mollys an Irish pub has good meals and Guinness

Charters Towers is sure worth a visit, nice clean town with plenty to to do for 3 or 4 days. The Park Motel. Great location, Could be a top spot. The buildings are not maintained and are not clean. We booked in for 3 nights, did stay for 2, but enough is enough we moved for the third night.

We stayed here for one night recently when passing through Charters Towers. The motel owner/manager is very friendly and helpful but the motel itself is in bad need of some refurbishment. I don't expect 3-star motels to be too flash, but this was pretty grotty - really dirty, stained carpet, kind of smelly rooms, broken knobs on the air conditioner.... More
