Having decided upon this property as a 'base' for our touring/re-discovering the Tablands region, we found our stay pleasant. The Hosts were lovely, including their friendly four-legged friend. The day we arrived, we relaxed on the balcony outside our room, overlooking the lush garden, which has such a varying array of plants. The room was pleasant & clean. The bathroom... More

Good centre for exploring the Tablelands. Highlight of Yungburra is the fact that by quietly walking along the stream at dusk you can see platypus in the water, lovely engaging creatures. Do not be taken in by "historic Yungburra" it is just a quiet pleasant little hamlet with a pub and some decent resturants. Accomodation is very small but pleasant... More

We made a late and unexpected booking when the wet broke and we were nervous about driving back down to Cairns. The room was very comfortable and cosy and facilities more than adequate in a beautiful garden setting. Kookaburra Lodge is within walking distance from historic Yungaburra township with well signposted and preserved heritage buildings.

Stayed one night - everything clean & fresh, and an excellent hot breaky on time. Walking distance to our restaurant & the pub - always handy in these days! Lovely garden setting & friendly service.

Stayed here just for 1 night after being directed by the Information Centre who were very friendly. Rooms were clean, owner helpful, free wireless internet, close to pub & shop. Fantastic to watch the platypus just on the town border but couldn't find the tree kangaroos. Would've loved to stay longer.

My husband and I spent a night at the lodge last month. Yungaburra is a charming town on the Atherton Tablelands. The lodge is central and within walking distance to restaurants, the pub and a grocery store. It is motel style accommodation and the rooms are small with a similarly small ensuite. There are tea and coffee making facilities in... More

This is a great place to stay - the owner was very personable and helpful - providing unlimited information on what to do in the area. Home cooked breakfast was delivered to our door each morning on our veranda that overlooked a beautiful landscaped yard. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We would definately recommend this place. Great value.

After what could only be described as an absolutely painful stay at a so called resort in Kuranda, we passed through Yungaburra- and found this little Gem... Initially stopping at the local Info center, we received some of the most friendly help from one of the loyal local's, who suggested this place- and even offered to find out if a... More

Basic, but spotlessly clean room in a sweet hotel. Gorgeous, well-cared for garden and pool area. All rooms have a small table and chairs outside facing the gardens. Proper peace and quiet apart from the Kookaburra!

A good stopover point on a car journey through the Tablelands. Kookaburra lodge rooms were more than adequate and the terrace garden was perfect for breakfast. The owners were very friendly and gave good advice about the area ,and a free PC in reception enabled us to catch up on our e mails. Nearby Flynns restaurant was excellent but the... More
