I stayed at this hotel for 2 days with my family in April 2012. It was really a great stay. The rooms were very clean, spacious and the river view was awesome...! Breakfast / dinner was good and the staff was very cordial. The traditional welcome was touching. It is really a value for your money....!

Brahmaputra Ashok is a part of the government owned Ashok chain of hotels, located close to other prominent government buildings in Guwahati, like the High Court and Circuit House. Though the USP of this hotel is that it is close to the Brahmaputra river, one cannot get much of a view of this magnificent river since the hotel is not...

Assam to me is synonym to Brahmaputra and tea gardens. So, when I got an opportunity to visit Assam for an Official trip- i decided to stay in a hotel which offered me river view. Some research on net and I froze on this Property. Made a personal call and ensure I get a river view room.
Located at prime...

Location is great right on the banks of the Brahmaputra. Also centrally located for shopping in Guwahati. Our expectations were raised with the warm traditional Assamese welcome. The room was strictly okay. Spacious but tired looking. Also room service is too slow. The hotel could be much better if they renovate the rooms and spruce it up.However our airport drop...

I stayed this hotel for two days including new years day.
The view from rearside rooms are really fantastic. My room 305 directly facing brahmaputra river. I can see the umananda temple situated in small island in the middle of brahmaputra.(in fact people beleive this is the smallest inhabited island in the world).
Hotel is located near high court and...

I got a lovely river facing room on the 2nd floor, but was the only good part about my stay in this hotel. For such a great location, this hotel does not do much, which is such a shame! The room seemed like it had been shut for ages with a musty smell all throughout my stay for 4 days....

The convenient location and pleasant view from the rooms of the Brahmaputra make this a good stop.
The food is adequate but there are better options nearby if you are looking for authentic Assamese food.
The food at the bar upstairs is surprisingly good and compliments an evening beer.

Located on river Brahmputra with traditional welcome on arrival makes you a V.I.P. in the state. You are presented with Assamese attire & feel warmth of assam. Only slight issue is delay in service of catering. No buffet for Lunch & Dinner but served through Ala Carte & guests having time constraints have to wait a lot for food.

We booked this hotel for the view of the Brahmaputra taking the executive suite on the 3rd floor for 2 nights. The view has disappeared with new buildings on the side and the hotel seems to be in steady decline. Poor maintenance. Poor cleanliness. Demotivated staff. The lift was out of order for days so it was a long and...
