My wife and I were looking for a nice quiet place to spend a night where we could also get a good meal in a pleasant environment. The Sculthorpe Mill certainly filled the bill. Right from the first telephone call to make the booking to finally checking out everything was perfect. Arival was courteous and welcoming, the room was clean,... More

This small hotel with 6 guestrooms was an ideal location for visiting relatives living close by. Turning off from the main road down a winding single track road, the Sculthorpe Mill is set amongst pretty scenery with the River Wensum running alongside. The 17th century former Mill House has an interesting history and the room we stayed in had a... More

Hi We stayed here as we retraced my parents past. Dad was in the American Air Force and Mother was from Buxton. They were to be married and had rented an apartment at the mill from an elderly woman that lived there at the time (1951/52). Unfortunately, Dad was shipped out the day before the wedding and they never got... More

As regular visitors to the area and having had really good meals here previously we decided to drive 20 miles and go here for dinner without booking as we liked this place and every other time it was worth it. On arrival the barman was very busy talking to a couple of regulars and served us our drinks and showed... More

Went for a Boxing day meal, received pleasently by staff. However at main meal after 3/4 through the meal one of our party poured peppercorn sauce on the remainder of his dinner and found a long hair. This was plainly in the sauce (Separate jug). When this was mentioned to one of the staff, she took the plate away and... More

Stayed for two nights as we were going to the show at Thursford. Great location, excellent staff , very good food, comfortable room, what more can you ask. Yes, the pump makes a noise now and again . Quite frankly, we had such a good time during the day a herd of elephants wouldnt have woken us up.And we live... More

Proper example of a modest Norfolk country inn. We had to visit N Norfolk for family wedding. Great welcome. Nice room, great bed. Good beer. Great shower; hot and strong. Good breakfast; strong large pot of tea.. Good, river, setting even in Novemeber. We live in Chelsea so noise at night doesnt matter to me. Some of these reviewers below... More

As we were visiting relatives in the area , my wife and I chose to stay for one night at the Sculthorpe mill, but never again! The property is really pretty, set on the mill stream with ducks and countryside all around. Inside the hotel is all old beams and exactly what you would expect ............the breakfast and lunch as... More

Warm reception, excellent breakfast. Room could be updated (lighting over mirror, update TV) & we were woken by noise of shower next door. However, this was soon forgotten by helpfulness of staff & the excellent location. Evening meal a bit on the expensive side. Would suggest they re-arrange the seating in the bar. Overall an enjoyable stay due to the... More
