I couldnt recommend Rufus House highly enough -from the warm welcome to the spotless rooms and delicious breakfasts. The location was also perfect, a short walk to lyndhurst and beautiful surrounding walks. Ernesto and Etsuko make you feel more than welcome but are never intrusive. A 5star stay - we will be back!

Very welcoming, spotlessly clean, great breakfast, ideal location both close to Lyndhurst town centre for pubs and restaurants while also slap bang in the centre of the New Forest with walking available straight from the front door. Only reason I didn't give it 5 is that I reserve these for exceptional places.

From the outset there was a warm and friendly welcome from the hosts, an attitude which remained throughout our stay. All staff members were extremely friendly. A very warm feeling to the house reflected by the welcome, the exellent service,the breakfast was very good and all needs catered for. It is perfectly located for walks in the forest or a stroll from the restuarants and pubs in Lyndhurst. We will call again , thank you to Ernesto and Etsuko.

Recently I returned to my favourite B&B, the Rufus House in Lyndhurst. Since my last stay there have been a few changes including new flat screen TV sets in all the rooms. With an on-going quest to not stay in chain budget motels a quick search on the internet and I found this hotel. Great value for money. The place is very welcoming with a home from home atmosphere.
