I use this hotel very regularly, although it can look a bit tired in some of the rooms, in general it is always clean and tidy. the staff are always friendly and helpful. With its proximity to London, it works out at good value. Restaurant seves nice food ( never had a bad meal ).

Chose to stay here for one night for Slam Dunk music festival at the nearby uni,arrived about 11am-check in wasn't til 2 but the lovely,lovely helpful man on reception offered to have our rooms prioritised so we could check in early (travelodge up the road charges an extra £10 for early check in!) & not miss any of the festival....

We stopped here as it is conveniently placed next to the university campus. First impressions were good - the art-deco styling and the history of the building have been retained. The rooms were very clean, comfy and spacious. The breakfast was very very good!! Buffet style, all you can eat, with a large selection of cereals, items of cooked breakfast, yoghurts and fruit.
Only negative was the cost of drinks at the bar. A glass of wine cost £9!!

Have just returned from a one night stay at this hotel as part of a (fairly expensive) coatch trip. I could not fault it. It was very clean, staff were helpful and the breakfast was great - they even had vegi sausages on request! I didn't have an evening meal there so can't comment but the room service menu looked...
