“Beauty of gardens only surpassed by meagerness of breakfast”

A full English breakfast with award winning sausages is promised at weekends, but during our visit the owner was absent and we only got a slice of toast and a coissant. Spent two nights here. Not the cheapest b&b accom I've ever used, but the room was very clean and tidy with a fridge, breakfast was good, parking was easy and the house was in a peaceful location with a nice view from the room. Comfortable weekend stay in a lovely old house. Excellent breakfast and friendly owners. Good choice for walkers as it is right on the Ridgeway and very close to the Ashridge Forest. Great find in an area where accommodation is hard to find.

I will always remember my stay at the Ranger's Cottage as one of the best of my several british trips. The place is delicious, surrounded by woods. The house is picturesque and very well kept.
