Visited in 2006: loved it. Food was great, local, fresh and delicious ( based on cafe and breakfast.) This time food was very poor, bad quality and not local. Bedrooms in dire need of updating, decor and particulary thd bathrooms. Great location but if you're after good food and bedrooms with character, go elsewhere.

We stayed here at the end of May and used the function room for a family party. We had booked most of the rooms between us and also paid for a buffet lunch at £10 per head. Impressive setting, but poor room which felt like a youth hostel. Shower too small and walls very thin. Limited mobile phone reception and TV channels available. Nearby Swan Hotel is good for food and Whalley is a pleasant village.
