I agree with all the previous comments, and it is worth noting the excellent drying room, which had our wet boots and coats ready for use the next day. The house is a good half a mile from the town centre via a paved footpath, but there is a nearer .restaurant open in the summer holiday evenings.

Lorna and James are the perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome and looked after. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the cooked breakfast in the morning is excellent. For the price, faultless.

Cosy & well furnished rooms inc tea/coffe making facilities, alarm clock & hair dryer. Lorna is a really friendly host with a wealth of local knowledge. Lots of choice at breakfast, which was always delicious. Walking distance to lots of local attractions (Gayle Mill, Wensleydale Creamery) & to Hawes.

Lorna and Ben couldn't have made our stay in East House any better. They are a lovely couple and made us feel instantly at home. The house is beautiful and exceptionally well kept. The views from the bedrooms are stunning and the cooked breakfasts are everything you could wish for. We cannot recommend this guest house highly enough.

Just outside Hawes in Gayle so easy parking and quiet but a pleasant walk of 1/2 mile or so to Hawes. Hosts very welcoming and friendly. My husband and I stayed here for the first time at The East House Guest House and couldn't fault a single thing! It is located in Gayle just a short walk from Hawes. Stayed here for 3 nights. Good size room with ensuite bathroom. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. TV lounge downstairs. Off-road parking for 2 cars but also parking across the street. Host, Lorna, is very friendly and gives good tips on walks in the area. Good location for travelling anywhere within the Dales.
